FORT PIERCE - A 69-year-old Fort Pierce man learned the hard way there are no clothing-optional beaches in St. Lucie County, according to a Sheriff's Office arrest report.

Joseph Robert Romano, of the 1000 block of Century Drive in Fort Pierce, has been charged with loitering/prowling after two women on Friday saw him sitting without clothes on Walton Rocks Beach.

The arrest report gives the following details:

The women told deputies the man was sitting with his legs open and he was watching them walk on the beach.

When deputies questioned Romano he said, "Isn't this a clothing-optional beach?"

By Saturday, he had been released from the County Jail.
