I would suggest and of course its totally up to you, that you join several of the other sites beyond this one. Principally Naturist Christian and Christian Village. I mention this because it sounds to me like you are still a Catholic boy at heart and that is more than commendable. Know too that nothing in the bible condemns nudity or its practice, what it condemns is lust and sexual carnal cravings. On these two sites there are many understanding members that will help you and lead you where you want to go. Also if I'm not mistaken the guy that's the moderator for this group is involved with ClothesFree.
Lastly RELAX thats important don't let your pent up fears and anxieties get the best of you, remember worrying about something too much is often much worse than what ends up happening. Naturism is about freedom, enjoyment and at least for me a spiritual connection to God and the world he created. Love the skin your in and stay naked! Amen and God Bless hope this helped

Hi. I'm a little bit south of you (down in San Diego). I have been a nudist for about a year now, though I have been moving this direction for closer to 4 years. I love nudism and have have found a personal freedom with in it as well as finding my self again. I would be happy to chat with you online via video chat, chatroom, or email. We can also chat by phone if you would like. I'm not the most experienced nudist, so I'll do my best to answer all of your questions.
I read through your post and was impressed with you honesty and sincerity. I have been a nudist for over 20 years. I actually was a nudist before I turned 18. Everyone had to start out at one point with the nudist lifestyle. I would be more than happy to to answer any question you may. unfortunately, we far away here in Florida. When I was younger I had the same questions you had. i always felt more comfortable nude. I came from the Midwest and was very limited in what was available for people. I moved to Florida for the weather, but also because I can be more involved with nudism. I wish I had all the resources back then that we have today.

What I would say to you is take you time. Move along at your own pace. Coming to NCH is a great place to meet genuine people of all ages. This is a legit site. You will find that there are a lot of nudist sites out there that are not what they claim to be. Participating in the chat room and the forums is a great way to make some new friends. I would also encourage you to become a member of AANR. That would give you and association with nudist organization. Being an AANR member will make it easier to visit some clubs that may have a quota on single men.

As far as taking the plunge, how fast you adapt depends on you. Everyone is different. there are some that may take many attempts before having the courage to get naked. Then there are some that can do it immediately. My first time at a resort was in college at Sunshine Gardens in Michigan when I was 18. I was finally old enough to visit. i called ahead first. Once I was there I knew nudism was for me. The biggest thing you will find is that the friends you make will be true friends who like you because of who you are. There is no status, we are all the same. All you have is your personality and everyone is accepted. That is the way it should be everywhere, not just in the nudist world. being in your 20's I would also refer you to the AANR VitaNuda program for you nudists 18-35. they have a group here on NCH. Lou who runs it is a friend of ours. We have several friends we have met through that group. I wish that group had been there before I became an old man at 42 LOL.

Once you do visit a club for the first time, I am sure you will have the time of your life. if you make some friends here at NCH, you may perhaps get together at a local club. We would be glad to invite you to our club if you lived in Florida and introduce you to others. Also NCH plans two gatherings each year. there was jsut one at Glen Eden in Southern California this past October and we will have one at our club in Florida I believe in April. That is a great place to meet new friends. it is real nice to see younger people like yourself with a true interest in nudism. Nudism is such a great lifestyle with a lot of great evens to get involved in. It is not all older retired people. Feel free to email us if you have any questions. Hope it all works out for you.

I understand exactly how you feel, though I live on the other side of the country. I don't have much in the way of advice, but I joined in hopes of gaining new friends on here and getting advice too. It looks like there are a lot of well experienced nudist that have made some great helpful post and seem willing to help and share experiences.
You do not have to worry about AANR. They respect the privacy of their members. All mailing just have their return address on them and do not say who they are. There is also nothing wrong with taking your time. i always say that it is better to walk then run.
email me I am nearby

Join through a club and write a check. It's less expensive that way. If you join So.Cal.Naturist assn., you would write their initials. AANR is all you need on your check if you mail it to the office there. Maybe an email to Brian@nudistclubhouse.com could answer the question if you join AANR through this site. When you join The Naturist Society, just put TNS on your check.

Califungi, I thought of the Nudist/Naturist Mentor as a way of BOTH introducing new people to my local, landed nudist resort and also finding people to carpool with in order to make travelling to the resort more economical. So, you are definitely not alone with this type of idea!

My resort is an hour drive away and given the daily fee admission is around $30-$40 dollars, adding the expense of gasoline and meals on top of that can also be discouraging.

I advertised my interest in being a mentor or "guide" in one or two of my online profiles, but so far have not had any bites. Why is this? Perhaps the majority of people who make the decision to GO to a nudist resort as a couple or family decide to do it as a group in order to primarily rely on each other for first-time thoughts, encouragement and feedback.

Honestly it is not difficult to make that first visit, although you may experience a moment of anxiety and hesitation at the "front gate" as I did, and I think many resorts have an in-house guides, receptionist or front-office staff to give a orientation tour of the property; mine did.

I also know another nudist in my area that donates much of his time to being a guide during Open House events and other times attracting large numbers of first time visitors. He is an educator by profession and therefore well suited to the task of answering questions, explaining the top features of the resort and offering a personalized introduction tailored on-the-fly to each person's needs.

The writing in your questions is so good, I suspect it might not be very long before YOU are the mentor and begin introducing others to the lifestyle or welcoming them at a local resort!

Best wishes,
~
