Absolute Naturists What about deliveries
| I'm curious about whether or not people dress to accept deliveries. I read in Naturally magazine that some years ago Dominoe's pizza said that deliveries to nude people were up 25%. I also read that Fed Ex said Jeff Goldblum always accepted delivereis in the nude. I have occasionally accepted a pizza delivery when nude, but only from the place that I've told ahead of time that I wouldn't have clothes on. It hasn't been a problem. I really hate putting on clothes when I've been comfortably nude all day, and resent needing to get dressed for a delivery. What do you think, and how do you deal with it? | |
| One evening ages ago, some nudist friends were over and we called for a pizza delivery. We were gonna stay naked when the driver brought in the pizza. There came the knock on the door. As I went to answer, everybody else dove for cover in the back of the house. We didn't do that again. | |

| I have a sign on the front door stating that the occupants are nudists and if you ring the doorbell, someone may answer nude. I have had UPS, Fedex, someone selling door-to-door. and even ladies from the local chuch ring the doorbell. A couple awkward moments - for them, but hey, they were warned. | |

| I think this would work in rural areas and would be expected at a nudist club...but we live in a housing tract in the suburbs and I think "they" would probably expect a little respect from us to don some sort of cover to answer the door. We have a situation that I do not want to take any further because our neighbors have been extremely accepting of what it is we do. Because we are nude ALMOST every minute, while we are home, and venture out into our backyard, frontyard and garage, are naked in our office which is in the front of the house with two large windows facing the street and neighbors homes...Answering the door in the nude and risking being seen completely by the neighbors across the street, to us, seems like we're rubbing their noses in it and we wouldn't want to do that. I have a pair of sheer shorts I wear out to the front yard to put out the trash, water the lawn, park my cars in the street....just about everything except stand and talk to the neighbors...and take deliveries. According to my wife...the shorts are opague enough that someone would have to stare for a longer period and the light just right for you to see anything clearly. That's how I get away with wearing them in the front yard. I've worked on my hot rod in the garage and there are times I can work on it with the door completely open and be nude but other times...I do shut the door slightly because I'm sure they can see in and I don't want our neighbors that both have children....5 young children in one home and a teenage girl in the other...to get upset and start calling the cops on the naked guy across the street. Both neighbors seem very accepting and the one with small children allows their two older ones to come over and play with our grandkids when they visit. The other with the teenage daughter...she works out on the top floor. Those windows look into the side yard of our backyard where I do lots of nude projecting. She's stated to me that "we should be able to do whatever we want in our backyards and if the neighbors do not like it...they shouldn't be looking"... and then she winked at me! I know she's seen me out there and never gave it a second thought. We've not had any conversations with our neighbors about our nudist lifestyle but they are well aware that we are always naked behind our walls, give us our privacy and seem to respect our right to do so. I've actually stood naked at the side fence and talked with our neighbor for quite sometime. Although he could see my full frontal nudity...I realized later that I had been standing in front of a bedroom window and my nude reflection was in the window behind me... LOL | |
| A few year back I had to answer for a FedX delivery. I had wrapped a towel around my waist and thought it secure enough...then again maybe not! I opened the door to receive the package and was told that I would have to sign for it. As I pushed open the screen door the towel dropped to the floor. Fortunately it was a male deliverer, because there I was nude as a new born babe. I signed for the package, which he then handed over to me, I picked up the towel from around my feet and closed the door. Turned out to be a no big deal experiance. | |
| I was once on the other end of this type of scenario. Years ago, I was a Fuller Brush Man (do you remember them?). At one home, a girl just a little younger than me opened the door in her robe, she had been in bed. As I identified myself, she put her hands together above her head and pushed up. The robe came open revealing only a very small pair of panties on a very nice body. I said nothing about the view, was invited in, and made a very decent sale. This was a first call but not the last. | I had the UPS man meet me by accident while I was on my back porch. He took it in stride like it happened all the time. I just acted like there was nothing unusual about it and neither of us said anything about my being nude. Back when I was in high school and had a home paper route when I collected on Saturdays a few of my customers would meet me at the door nude and one lady always asked me to come in when it was cold outside. | |
| Whenever I see the evangelists working the neighborhood, I am always tempted to answer the door in the nude. (Just to see if they would tolerate one of God's creations without the wrap). I am worried about the legality of doing that though. I know laws differ depending on location, but one would think that in your own home, they wouldn't have much to complain about.They invaded my space, not the other way around. I wouldn't want an indecency charge leveled against me. | |
| Along that line.... While living in Japan, there was a knock on the door one morning. My bed was in line with the front door. I said to come in and in stepped a beautiful young Mormon woman. She looked at me (a bearded foreigner with a sheet draped over him hips down)and stopped then slowly started her spiel. We talked a little then after I thanked her and said I wasn't interested she left. I think she was more disconcerted that the voice through the door led to a foreigner than that I was naked while she was in her Sunday best. | |
| I find it interesting that in many many case a delivery person seems NOT to have a problem delivering a package if the door is answered by a skimply clad or nude female... but whoooooaahh is me if a nude male answers the door...I have a nicely printed sign on my front door...nudist inside knock , ring the door bell or enter at your own informed decision...seems to work very well for anyone deliving...Rick | |
| There's a difference between nudism/naturism and exhibitionism. Anyone who is delivering something to your house isn't doing it by choice and if you can't take the idea of covering up for a few seconds out of respect for that person, you should probably live in a place where nudity is to be expected like a resort or something or just stop ordering stuff to be delivered. Unless all of your clothes and towels so are made out of lead and sandpaper you should be able to tolerate wearing a robe for a few seconds. Also flashing the delivery guy is a crime in a lot of places. | |
| As much as I love being nude, it wouldn't be too difficult to quickly cover myself to accept a delivery. The other day I wore my robe when a landscaper came by to discuss his plans and costs with my wife and I. Everything necessary was covered and caused no issues. As he left, I walked him to his vehicle wearing my robe tied around me just as I did when he was in the home. Again, no issues or concerns arose. | |
| I accept all deliveries nude. It is a normal way of living or me and I do not do it to shock or arouse. I just appraoch it as if I was clothed, which i am but in my own skin. Just act normal, as you should. | |
| SunBunny, I absolutely envy you for living as you do. I live and will continue to live, I'm sure, in a textile community. I'd love to live nude 24/7 and never have to get dressed. Unfortunately, my wife has not adopted nudism herself. But, even if she does, we still live in a textile community where we plan to stay since we own our home. Jim | |

A towel wrapped around you doesn’t cut it. | True. Yes, we must be respectful of those who may not desire to see us in the nude, particularly unexpectedly, such as while making deliveries. I'm just encouraged about the reports of those who have not freaked out. Jim | |
| and to add to that... posting a sign on your door, especially if you are female, is a public invitation to come check out the naked girl by all the passerbys. I did it many years ago as a statement of courtesy as some had recommended and I had every young buck in the apt complex knocking on my door. It really serves no purpose. | |
| I personally believe that it's irresponsible to just open your door naked to any random person who knocks on your door. A delivery person is probably never going to make a big deal about it, they just want to get the signature or collect the money and leave as fast as they can. But what if it was the neighbor's 8 year old who came to get a ball that was tossed over the fence? What do you say to their parents or the police who were called? Answering the door naked doesn't tell anyone that you are expressing your personal freedom or that you are a pure family friendly nudist. It takes more than a 20 second nude interaction for someone to tell that you aren't just some freak who just loves to flash people. | |
| Serenity makes some good points. I think it is incumbent for every person to decide what situation is best for you. I live in adult nudist communities where everyone is nude and when textile people enter our gates they enter into our domain. In this case I believe I should not have to cover up because they are textile. I am not ashamed of my nudity in any way shape or form. This is much different than a neighborhood kid hitting a ball over your fence. I do hope that everyone takes all responses to these posts as an individual's personal opinion and not as gospel for everyone to follow. Everyone should be responsible and courteous to others no matter what. By the way, the initial question put forth in this post was "I'm curious about whether or not people dress to accept deliveries". Pizza and FedEx was an example, not children or a neighbor. Any more thoughts? | |
| A bit off topic but in line with what we're talking about here in relation to deliveries to naturists homes. I was at our club a while back and there were some residents having some work done by outside contractors. She felt that since she was in "her" environment, she was going to keep living the way she was accustom to. She quickly found that when she was visible or female neighbors came to visit...the work on their home slowed down! LOL She left her property and came down to the pool area "so the workers could progress further along then they had been for first 1/2 the day!" LOL | |
| Once one of our regular amil ladies brought a package I neede to sign for. As I wasn't expecting anyone I didn't have anything near the door to cover with and I just got up so I was still groggy. It took what seemed like forever to find my shorts. I finally found them and opened the door and apologized to the mail lady and explained I was a nudist and it took a minute to find something to put on. She just smiled and said it's ok that it's my home and I should do what I like she wouldn't have a problem with me answering the door nude. Since then she hasn't ahd to bring anything to the door. | |
| I've only answer nude when I know who is there and that they expect me to be nude - such as when we have had nude yoga classes or other nude events. In general though, I wouldn't do it - could be a friend of the kids etc. Lately we've also had to be more aware of when the kids are doing video chats with their friends. Those computer cameras can have a much wider view than you might expect. :) One idea I had was that, since we have 2 entrances people use, put signs on the doors. Nudists use this door, everyone else use the other door - and vice versa. | |
| As I said before, I'm encouraged by the fact no one has really experienced a negative reaction to answering the door nude or announcing they are nudists, I too think it's responsible to cover up to some degree before opening the door to strangers. But, I still like to keep the coverage to a minimum (quick on/quick off). If the person(s) at the door is a nudist or friend who realizes you're a nudist and has no problem with it then I say go for it. I do believe non-nudist males would certainly flock to a nudist's door if they believe they will have the chance to see a nude female though probably not so much if a nude male routinely answers the door. | Let's respect non nudist, grab a towel! Although, in my heart, I would love that nudity be tolerated as is, and as such being able to open the front door naked. But we need to continue to fight to deliver positive non sexual messages about nudism. | |
| Funny this topic came up now as I am expecting a delivery today myself. As much as I would like to be able to answer the door nude, I will be respectful and use a towel to cover, and maybe that might start a conversation with the delivery person. Guess we will see... | |
| I got a friend, actually he was my boss when we were both working, that sends me all kinds of "guy stuff" emails. He knows we are nudists so he's always sending me links from DailyMotion. Recently, he sent a couple of Pizza Delivery videos where young women surprise the pizza delivery guy buy answering the door naked or with a towel on that they "accidently" drop. It's the "guy" delivery person and female customer but ... if it were a "female" delivery person and a guy answering the door naked ... chances are that the female delivery person would NOT react like the guy delivery person with a naked female. I'm sure the UPS guy wouldn't mind the Prof answering the door naked but probably wouldn't think it was cool that I did. I have thought about answering the door in the nude but hidden behind the door until the UPS, USPS or person at the door says ... "it's okay, that doesn't bother me"... but I haven't and not sure I ever will. :D |
