 The first oyster roast at the Travelites' Valentines celebration was fun with a capital "F".
People arrived from not only the Midlands of SC but also from NC and GA. The weather was
great for the Oyster Roast with scrumptious oyster singles that were fantastic. Each batch
of the bushel was consumed in short order.

The rest of the dinner included chicken marsala, clam & chicken chowder, a wonderful
salad fully loaded, pasta Alfredo, garlic bread, and variety of desserts including
brownies, cakes, cupcakes, and ice cream.

Champage was poured for a toast and sparkling grape juice was available for those who
preferred it.

During the event, several brought out guitars and serenaded us in good voice and
talent. A photo of this has been posted to Cheris-Travelites on Yahoo (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cheris-travelites
where only actual club members are able to view. The Album in the Photos section is
named "2011 Club Events." Those in attendance were given small plush valentine
elephants and mice as souvenirs.

Our next scheduled event is our Mardi Gras party on February 26th in Camden. Please
let us know what you'll be bringing for the Cajun potluck supper when you RSVP. A variety
of Beads and masks will be available to celebrate with.

The following fun will be found at Travelites' annual St. Pat's party in Leesville. The
club supplies the corned beef. Others are asked to bring sides or desserts.

July 23 - Luau & ham radio event - Sunair/Graniteville
Aug. 13 - Toga Party
Aug. 27 - ?? Let us know if you can host this date.
Sept. 10 - Patriots' Party, Fish Fry - conclusion of auction - Hopkins
Sept. 24 - Potluck lunch and welcome to Autumn
Oct. 1 - Oktoberfest - usually Greenville
Oct. 15 - Founder's Day celebration - Hopkins
Oct. 29 - Halloween - Sunair
Nov. 5 - Thanksgiving with a deep fried turkey
Nov. 19 - Lobster Bash & Oyster Roast - Ridgeway
Dec. 3 - winter holiday party
Dec. 17 - last hot tub party of 2011.
