So tell me, what is So Great about Livng Nude or even wanting to live nude if the laws, churches, employers, co-workers, aquiantances, friends, family and many others out there are thinking bad things about nudity, about you for wanting to be nude, disassociating themselve with you, arresting you for being nude, and negatively talking about you.
Why would you really want to go against that tide just to live nude a nature intended?

Ditch, it sounds like we lived similar lives growing up as I was nude as much as I could when I was left home alone. The woods I would go nude in were about 10 acres next to our home. It had a stream that ran thru it and there was a spot were a place was like quicksand but only about 2 feet deep where I would like to go nude. In the summer between my junior and senior year of high school a couple of girls that lived near me and a guy I knew would play in the "quicksand" and decided that it would be better if we did it nude so we did not have to explain why our clothes were wet from washing them in the stream and then wash our nude bodies off in the stream. We did this 2 summers and then went off to collage in the fall. That was my first time being nude with both male and females.

After collage and time in the military I met my wife who also shared my love for being nude in and outside our home. She passed away almost 10 years ago and I have now met another lady that shares my love of nudity.

Life is great, nude life is better.
I would have to say that I always felt better when nude since I was a kid. Growing up in the cold midwest clothes would be oin the winter and the summer. When I first experienced being nude outdoors and spending day after day nude at a resort for vacation, I found that I felt cleaner when nude. After being outdoors, with sunscreen on, swimming, shower, etc. my skin felt so much better and cleaner. I think that is a big reason for wanting to live the nudist way of life.

I'm still new to nudism, having done some nude sunbathing in the past. But, i dedicated myself to nudism only last summer/fall while working in my backyard. I now hate having to get dressed to go anywher (work, dining, etc).

Recently my wife attacked me for my nudity, threatening to leave if I continue. Honestly, it's hard to say I'll not go nude every chance I get despite her threat. I'm sitting here totally nude as I type this. I stripped off my clothing as soon as I got home, after considering driving home nude (I did undo my pants to free myself as much as possible. I do NOT wear underwear any longer and will not in the future. I tossed all away when I decided to go commando).

The weather's too windy and chilly to go out naked right now but, I'm looking forward to basking in the sun clothing free again soon.

Why? Because the feeling is so wonderful. I feel free when naked.

Clothing binds, pulls, cuts, chokes, and throttles. They are only good for protection when doing something dangerous; hiking through brambles and thorns, welding, when it is cold etc.

This is not a simple question. Why not live nude? Yes, there is all the negativity that you mentioned. But, I feel we should have the freedom of choice. Different strokes for different folks. I pose the question, why does nudity make people so uncomfortable that it has to be viewed in such a negative light?

Dreams, I think it is because most cultures are based on shame. This is the conditioning that produces conformity. Conformity is a major purpose of culture to make a cohesive group. Shame of self for thinking or acting outside the accepted box is the cultural control. Shame of self includes the body. It is a shame that most can not accept nudity when clothes are not needed for climate or protection.
I wonder if acceptance of minimal clothes or nudity (loin clothes) could be an index of cultural as well as legal freedoms.

Because I want to and it doesn't harm anyone.

I agree with Bryan about living in a colder climate and how much better (healthier) it feels to be nude at home and then outside when the weather permits.

I just feel better and less stressed.

As for Dream's comment, it is shame but also the unrealistic portrayal of how people should look physically, both male and female.

We are what we are and the differences among us simply make life more interesting and fun.

Dreams, I agree with bare. Most cultures teach that the body is dirty and should never bee seen.

I think that most people see nudity as a sexual act. My best friend is a female and people who know that we hang out naked together can not believe that we have not had sex, I try to explain that it is a type of lifestyle and not to promote sex. If people could just understand and become more acceptable to our lifestyle, the world would be a much better place.

I don't think they're anything wrong with being nude. The way I look at is, in the Bible in Genesis 2, it says that they were both naked and were not ashamed. Sin did not come until the world until the serpent tempted Eve, and that was in chapter 3. Adam and Eve were already naked before that, so how can being be a shame. I believe that if Eve hadn't eaten that apple we would all be naked. I recently found out that there's a site for Christian nudists and there's also a nudist choir. I'd like to be a part of that.

I truly am more comfortable, feel less stressed and feel, as a whole, better...when I'm nude.

In order to feel this way as much as possible...We live nude as much as possible. Now...I started when I was 14 yrs of age. I would strip off when I had the house to myself and I'd hold up in my bedroom so I could be nude.

I did everything I could do to minimize being clothed. I slept nude, went without underwear and began wearing shoes that I didn't have to wear socks and wasn't a fashion foebah! LOL

Living nude and being a nudist is something that, I believe, is inherent. I've always had a perpensity for being nude. My wife has not and only developed this enjoyment and comfortable nature after we were married and she began living this way because I lived that way.

I was raised in a conservative home but still had these tendancies and needs to be nude whenever I could.

Being nude makes me happy. I feel good and my body feels better when I'm naked. I just drove home from meeting friends...1.5 hrs and as soon as I got in the house...I got naked and felt SOOOO much better.

True...why do this if it costs you family, friends...loved ones. Some guys can lose their wive's over this lifestyle. I could have because being a nudist is a very large part of who I am...inside.

Friends, family and loved ones need to respect who it is you are...completely. If they don't...then they aren't very good friends, family members of loved ones.

I only wish I could move to a nudist community because then I think I'd fulfill all my nudist needs and wants by living that way and only venturing into the clothed world when it was necessary.

;)

Every day that passes I am more convinced that living nude and living in harmony and balance with nature is best way to live. It just gets rid of all the armor and pretense that clothing wraps us in. Once you live nude at the core level you can begin to clearly see and separate the nonsense of the textile mandates whether you are in a situation where you have to cover up or not. The Colina segment with Carina really typifies it.

I thought I would bring this up again since we have sooooooo many newer members who have not chimed in on this one. It is an excellent topic.
Whether you are new or not, tell us your thoughts please at this point in time....

Living nude fits within the concept of K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid). Living nude equates to simplicity. And as I always emphasize, living everyday in your "natural suit" is good for one's mental and physical health. Living nude is a remedy that can help heal an ailing individual, or even our ailing world by alleviating the collective toxicity of negative stress brought on by cultural clashes/differences and materialism.

Hi all!

I'll try to articulate my answer with understanding.

For myself, I can't stand the feel of garments upon my body. Weight, textures, designs, etc.. Also I'm not comfortable trying to decide what to wear, to impress those people around me I confront from day to day, setting a personal image for others to judge. I hated it through out my working years.

My naked body is me, from the inside out. I am perfectly happy knowing I don't have to change one aspect of me to gain approval from other people when surrounded with like minded others.

My nudity is a spiritual, grounded, free symbol of my existence, which I envelope myself in pure harmony with nature within every breath I take.

For the textile population, those who don't experience their nakedness openly, use the myth that "men and women can't be just friends" never the less when they are naked, this is so far from the truth.

The force and energy from a group of naked people is profoundly comforting. Unconditionally accepted by all who share.

Living nude is only great for those who enjoy being nude. With so many different people on the planet, each with individual values and beliefs we naturally find that there are some who we agree with some we don't. I could wax poetic about the virtues of clothes-free living, the same reasons most nudists use to justify our passion for preferring to be nude, but the truth is that I just like it and I always have. Even as a young child I would daydream about being able to go without clothes. I was not raised a nudist, but I was not raised a prude either so it isn't something I was taught, but rather a self discovery that has evolved over my life. So I guess that living nude is great for me because it's what I like, the same way I like pickup trucks or boating. Living the way you want to live is what will make you happiest, even if it goes against the accepted norm of the society you live in. When my circumstances allow it I am nude, and when I am able to I will move into a nudist community so I can be nude 24/7 without fear of reproach, just because I want to.

Why? It just feels good. Why Not would seem to be more appropriate. If it brings no harm to anyone, why not do it if one enjoys it. Being nude is just so darn comfortable. Just can't wait to get home in the evening and disrobe. Let the body breathe.

It feels so natural. I don't think anyone can really understand or appreciate it until you live in a place where nudity is the norm. After you do that, clothing just seems insane.
I know,I live in a nudist housing venue.

For me its just that it feels the most natural. It doesnt hurt anyone and at this point in my life I want to live how I want to live. Free and natural and spritual...thats what being nude is for me.

Sonobeach has said what I would have said. It just feels good. Parents were against it. So didn't understand why something that felt so good was bad. That could be it. So rebelled and went nude when they were not home. Got into social nudism after the military.

I agree nudity is the natural state for all creatures and is the most relaxing state there is.
