Nudist Clubs/Resorts in Your Area
| Please share your thoughts, experiences and general information with naturist/nudist/co clubs and resorts in your areas. Summer is quickly approaching and this would be good information for all of us and possibly make plans to visit for a wonderful new nude experience. | |
| We have been to Empire Haven and Bonita Nudist resort. We had a good time at both. Empire Haven has a lot more activities for people than Bonita. People were friendly at both but that is just the nudist way. Empire Haven is a much larger facility with a lot more people there. It's got a nice pool, very large and nice hot tub and decent restaraunt at good prices for meals. Lots of nature trails for hiking and a small pond to fish in. Bonita has a much smaller draw of people a good place for first time nudists because you can stay relativly private and ease yourself into the crowd. We like more people and more activities it makes it more fun. On the other hand the owners of Bonita Jerry and Annie are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. It is a much more laid back atmosphere there. | |
| Solair Recreation League is one of AANR's oldest clubs , almost 80 years old. It is set on over 400 acres. It has a pond with a raft in the middle, and a pool which was built around 10 years ago. There is a clubhouse, recreation building, RV and camp sites, as well as rentals, There are also cottages for purchase from time to time. tennis, volleyball horse shoes, paddle boats, something for everyone or you can just sit on the beach, soak up the sun and read a book. Hiking trails and lots of activities, especially on the long weekends. It is a co-op club where every full member pays dues and has work share hours. There are other levels of membership as well. The rates are reasonable and the people are friendly. The only drawback I see here is that after 3 visits (you get a card signed by a membership committee member during each visit), you have to pick a membership level, which could be a little steep for some. The club is well maintained and upgrading is always a work in progress. The club has literally rebuilt itself since the first time I visited in the 1970s. It is also easily accessible by the freeway from all directions, just a little tricky finding the road that leads into the club. | |
| Glen Eden is one of the oldest and largest nudist resorts in the country. It is an active club with a very large tennis community. It has six courts. Water volleyball is big there also. We have an indoor pool as well as an outdoor pool. The resort is on about 165 acres so the hiking is good also. There is a full time cafe and a club house and a dog park. We have outdoor volley ball, horseshoes, shuffle board, and petanque. There is karaoke and a dance every weekend and a theme dance once a month or/and on holidays. Everyone should give it a try. | |
| Olive Dell, Deer Park(under several different names), Glen Eden have been around over 60+yrs. Sadly Mystic Oaks formerly McConnville was also in the same timeline. | |
| Glen Eden has already been described and Olive Dell has been mentioned, along with Deer Park, but no particulars. Olive Dell is a tad more "rustic" than Glen Eden. Rustic, in that, the road to the main gate from the paved canyon road is dirt and after heavy rains, can have some ruts and small trenches to navigate through. Olive Dell is actually a "diamond in the rough." Once you get up the hill and into the gates...the grounds are well maintained with lots of improvements going on all the time. Lots of acreage to roam and...recently (last year) the very first nude 5K run, at a Southern California nudist club, was held at Olive Dell. The second Annual Bare Burro Run will be held this Sunday, April 17th. Olive Dell also has hiking trails that are longer than those at Glen Eden and the ability to be naked the entire time is something that you can't or are cautioned about at GE. The recreation area has been refurbished, repainted and maintained nicely. Pool area is a bit smaller than GE but still nice. There is a shade area with tables and chairs if you'd like to get out of the sun, a nice hot tub and large recreation center for their dances and functions. I've only visited Olive Dell a few times and last year participated in the Bare Burro 5K nude run. We will return Sunday to participate in this years event and I'll try and list more amenties after our visit. I had the opportunity to meet the owners after the 5K run and to tell you that they are friendly is an understatement. They were very gracious and accessible to those that had never visited or hadn't been there in quite a while. They were both very friendly and thanked us for visiting and taking part in the event and asked us to return and visit anytime. That was a nice touch to the end of a fun day. | |
| Three Places: >Natures Resort, Edcouch, Texas (landed) Most of the Winter Texans (snowbirds) are gone now so the park is much quieter and spaces are available usually. it will get very warm but usually dry heat and there are pools to play in. A good place to get a really nice dark tan. Info at naturesresorttexas.com (landed) >LARC, Mount Vernon, Washington Mostly a weekender type park although it is open year-round. Activities take place on weekend. Fun and friendly group of people. It is located in beautiful wooded campground type environement. Deer are frequent vistors. Can be rainy and cold but when the sun comes out it is very nice. Very relaxing place to be nude. Info at larcnudists.com >NorthWest Naturist Boating Club, Bellingham Washington (non-landed, literally) A new AANR/TNS affiliated boating club. No boat required but it helps. Boating cruises throughout the San Juan Islands and Gulf Islands. Membership required for cruise information. Info at nwnbc.org | |
| Sunsport Gardens, Loxahatchee Groves, FL. It's great. I live down the road and I go there alot. | |
| Wow, thanks Triker, good info for me. I am thinking about visiting there and checking it out this winter. I get their newsletter. What is a good month to visit and can you add a little more about Sunsport. Thanks! | |
| For the first summer in a few we have not made it to our nudist destinations. We have visited Sun Meadow, Orient Land Trust with the nude tour up to the old mine, and Crocus Grove along with attending gathering of our home club the Prairie Suns. Saskachewan has Green Haven, a well known northern destination to some. Nude recreation is slowly making a come back here. At least one new landed club is in its very early stages here in Saskachewan and may not wish to be publicized at this time. | |
| http://sunsportgardens.com/ @ - SunBunny - Anytime is good. During the winter months it's a bit more crowded than during the summer or late spring. During this time, it's also generally abundantly sunny and in the high 70's. You may want to avoid December as there is usually a few cold spells where the temp. can dip into the Thirties and Forties. Personally, I tend to prefer the summer and early fall. Being as how I reside so close, I'm kinda spoiled. That is, if it isn't at least 85F or higher ( The hotter the better ) I stay away. | |
| My favorite destination is Serendipity, Cleveland, GA, the only nudist park I'll recommend between FL and WV. Every time we return, it's like coming home. They go out of their way to be accommodating no matter what. Their prices are good including full meal service. As far as any club in this area, my own mini-park is my favorite. I don't have to spend gas to get there. We have a pool, hot tub, volleyball, petanque, horseshoes, ladder toss, deck/lawn on which to sun or relax in the shade. We've just started offering a reduction in annual Travelites' dues for any work done on our property. Friends are always welcome to visit as we now have a guest house/clubhouse. | |
| There aren't any within reasonable driving distance. Zero, zip! I wish there were at least one. | |
| In Florida- Lake Como. Beautiful and rustic family naturist park. Sports, nature trails, affordable, good food. Friendly people. AANR club. Paradise Lakes. Small (but nice) resort area. concrete and buildings, NOT family friendly, expensive. Food is poor. Non-AANR. Caliente. Very upscale and beautiful, concrete and buildings, NOT family friendly, expensive. Ok food. Non-AANR. Gulf Coast Resort. Very small and very rustic. Few amenities, affordable. Family friendly AANR club. | |
| Naples Fl has a nice lil place called Edun Lake | |
| We only have South Valley Travel Club in this area. A non-landed club in the southern San Joaquin Valley. There are no landed resorts within a 3 hour drive of our house. | |
| I guess being in a highly populated area has some advantages. Within two hours of where I live there are five clubs in NJ and PA. I didn't even think of NY so there may be more. Two hours west of me are Beechwood Lodge and Sunny Rest in PA. I've been to Sunny Rest once. Nice place. Very diverse facilities with camping, rental rooms and cabins. More resort than club is my impression but I could be wrong. I'd join there if it wasn't so far away. Never been to Beechwood so I can't comment there. One hour out from me are Goodland (never been there) and Rock Lodge. Rock Lodge is more rustic than suits my taste but the people are very friendly. My home club is Sky Farm. It is the oldest club in the US. Great facilities with heated pool, hot tub sauna and courts for tennis, mini ten, volleyball and basketball. Big sun lawns. Most importantly the people are great and there is ALWAYS some kind of social event going on. Most events are well planned but some ad hoc. For example, one couple decided to host a chicken wing party this Saturday with everyone else coming contributing some pot luck items such as salads, deserts, 3 foot hoagies, etc. They'll probably have 25 people or more at an off-the-cuff event based on a couple of emails. There will probably be more one-off, unplanned events around the New Year and the Superbowl. That's what is great about Sky Farm. You can have all the facilities you can throw money at. But its the people that make a place go. You can be as involved and volunteer as much as you like or just kick back and let it pass by. Sky Farm if very family oriented but still remains single friendly. I should know...I'm a single up there and have never felt "left out" or shunned because I don't have a female companion. My only complaint is that I can't bring my dog as a non-cabin owner. I understand why and it's not really an issue. I just feel bad leaving the dog home 'cause he's my buddy. | |
| No permanent facilities near here though there's an effort to create a nudist area at Treasure Island RV Resort in Pahrump about one hour to the west. We have the Las Vegas Bares travel club and one other non-singles club here. Because I work weekends I get very few opportunities to spend anytime with others at the few outings scheduled througout the warmer months. Jim | |
| PSHS is a camp just 11 miles from me. So I am lucky to have a place that close to me. |
