| It's always important to consider other people fellings, I relate it to smoking; You wouldn't smoke around non-smokers unless they approved, even then a respect is formed for not exposing them. At the same time, your not going to quit what you enjoy so as not to offend the rest of the world. Hike again. Find a more secluded spot. Reassure your wife that you did your very best to consider others feelings, you are careful. Try a camping trip, with alot of trails for hiking, for more advanced hikers-not so many families that way. Keep a towel, instead of shorts, easier to take on and off. Don't give in to the rules, just find a way around them. | |
| My wife (now ex-wife) has never been into nudism. She thinks it's kind of wierd. Before the divorce I used to go to the nude beach in secret, that didn't feel so good. Now I do as I please which is much better. However, my ex-wife opposes my children to be nudists. | |
| My wife is from the Philippines. I just read an article in the Autumn 2008 issue of N that discussed Filipinos and nudity. It can be a complex and paradoxical issue. The article gave me some insight into understanding how nudism fits into her cultural background and how it might be viewed by her peers in the local Filipino community. I don't fully comprehend it but now I have more information. | |
| I have been a nudist in secret from my wife(until last year), but have always found nothing wrong with getting sun or whatever with or without clothes. I started by getting sun on my pool deck, being careful of the neighbors, but decided to go to a clothing optional resort as I was very comfortable with being nude in front of others. As most people say, it's not sexualliy, just being comfortable without clothes. As I've seen here, my wife thinks it's wierd. I found in going to a nudist resort is a very comfortable experience for me. I guess the question is...has anyone successfully had a conversation with their significant other about having the live and let live relationship? | |
| With us, the good news is that Suzanne finds nothing wrong with both of us being nude at home, in our pool and in our garden all the time. The bad news is that she's self-conscious about her weight, and doesn't want strangers to see her nude. She's come to nude resorts with me a couple of times, and bravely took all her clothes off, but felt uncomfortable in that environment. She sensed that all the women--not the men--were judging her unfavorably. One would think that the spirit of sisterhood would prompt women to support a woman facing a challenging new experience, but the opposite seems to be the case. Men rarely make catty remarks about other men, but women seem to be the worst enemies of other women. Have other nudists noted this anomaly? Luckily for us, we recently moved from icy cold Geneva, Switzerland, to warm and sunny Naples, Florida. Now we can be nude in our pool and garden all year long, although not when we have guests. I'm sorry that Suzanne would rather not attend nudist social events, but I'm putting no pressure on her. I love her and feel she'll eventually come around to accepting social nude recreation at her own pace. If she ever decides to visit a nudist resort again, I hope the women there will seem less judgmental. | |
| i had a minor success story with my wife-- I took her to Amsterdam for her 40th birthday and booked her a spa treatment at a famous Dutch spa. Well, what do you know? All Dutch spas are truly European in style-- co-ed and nude! My wife is self-conscious, and not really into nudism, but she bravely stripped off and really enjoyed herself! She said it was the best spa experience of her life! When we returned home, she even told some friends how great it was. She doesn't think it would be the same here in the US, but I'm hopeful this is just the start! |
