Who should be or would be better advocates for social nudity, Organizations or Individuals?
The recent edition of the AANR Bulletin had some discussion about AANR becomeing more advocacy based and not club based. Maybe yes, maybe no, maybe maybe. In my mind, the question arises of who would make a better and more direct advocate for nude recreation or nude living. What do you think?

I see it taking ALL of us in the boat rowing...the individual CAN NOT progress much passed him/herself without an advocacy group..however the advocacy group BAN NOT leave portions of its advocates behind and locked out and hope to succeed..married ,divorced, widowed or by choice single , black , white, purple , green whatever color... we have to first communicate with eachother and then communicate thru an advocacy group...to paraphrase some quote I have heard someplace before..."NO nudist left behind"...:+))
As one coming from an advocacy group I can tell you advocacy must include all members. We start by being members of a national group such as AANR or TNS for they serve to let us know what’s going on. We are advocates when we tell others about the benefits of being nudist and how much we enjoy social nudity. Our behavior speaks volumes as to what naturist means. Furthermore anyone who can abide by the rules of conduct regardless of race, nationality gender, relationship states or disability.

Although individuals certainly help to promote a cause, a national organization has much more credibility in the public forum. If an organization such as AANR offered spokesmen to radio or TV talk shows or other media outlets, to discuss nudism it is much more likely that the offer would be accepted than if an individual made it. An individual who doesn't represent a group wouldn't get much useful attention.

Although there are advantages to both, I don't think it's possible to say one is better than the other. Both are needed!!!
One way more people can get involved is to help your local club with activities. So often with any group there are so few people working to help make the organization work. Then there people setting back complaining that there is nothing going on at the club and claim that the resort is failing and there is nothing to do. Who’s to blame for that?
If potential visitors see there are things to do they will come. In other words you have to wet there appetite to visit.
We also advocate when we tell others about naturism and how much we enjoy the lifestyle.

Well said, Smokey. I am slowly trying to introduce nudity to others within my little circle of friends, neighbors, coworkers. I've had some success.

I'm still really new to the nudist way of life but I love being naked every possible moment. Maybe I'm not the best advocate since I haven't vconvinced my wife yet nudity is normal.
