Whats your worst or stupidest sunburn? Your remedies? The fantastic, or miserable time you had earning your punishment?
I had my very first sunburn EVER from the Mexico trip where we filmed "Mexico Sol" The equator is a different kind of punishment! Ever since, I have burned every summer.
Not worth it! Getting "Montezuma's Revenge" and having an all over boiling at the same time-the flight home was not pretty!

once I decided to come out of winters hiding and head out for an impromptu trip to Deep Creek. I had no sunscreen at all and thought i'd be ok. Apparantly, I was whiter than I thought. I burnt so bad I thought i was gonna die. I still have a wayward freckle to remind me of the event.

I dont have any spectacular story to share but I have been burnt to a crisp. I was out fishing on a boat, with the breeze blowing just enough that the sun didnt feel warm enough to give the impression that I was being roasted. It wasnt until after ariving home after sitting in that all day, that I realised getting undressed was the most painful experience I had endured. Literally blowing on my skin hurt. Taking my shirt over my arms felt like I was slicing them open with a knife. The shower felt like I was being tortured in some cruel dungeon.... lol

The only "sunburn" I can really remember was a couple years ago at Club Orient. I'm pretty dark skined anyway and rarely put on any sunscreen...my wife hammers me about it constantly.

We were huggin friends goodbye and she patted me on the shoulder and said..."you really need to put some stuff on." I didn't pay attention til that night.....OH MAN did it sting laying on those sheets! Felt like rough grit sandpaper all over my body!

I'm a little more careful nowadays.

Oh wait...there is one other time.....still at Club Orient. We went on a day cruise to an island, got off and hit the beach. I went snorkling and was on a hunt for shells for my grandchildren. The butt got really toasted that day too! LOL

I remember my first encounter with tropical sun. My now ex and I went to Hawaii (Kauai) we got to the hotel in late afternoon and immediately went for a short walk in the beach. We stopped to talk to another couple, we were out less than a hour, and both of us were sun burned. We are from CA so we were spending every available moment at home getting a good base tan, did not help much.
Next morning much smarter applied suntan lotion before leaving hotel room came back with another burn around the waist. That is when I learned the suntan lotion goes on first all over before any clothes ?cause clothes move around. Then when you get where you need to go you can strip and reapply lotion as need. Ex was not into nudism, one more reason why she is ex.

At the beginning of this years sunning I had acquired a base tan and felt completely safe sunbathing. I lay on my back and fell asleep, not taking into account the angle of the sun or its intensity. When I woke up the area between my toes was quite red and the soles of my feet were bright red. Not fun when you have to drive home.

Years ago, when I was in the Air Force, although stationed in England, I was TDY to Wheelus AFB, Libya. One of my mates form England and I went to a Mediterranean beach that was off base. The northern boundry of the base was the Med. My friend was even whiter than was I. After a while, I told him to put on a shirt because he was burning. He didn't. The next day, he was so sore, he went on sick call and had third degree burns across his shoulders. He almost got a dishonorable discharge for damaging government property.

Worst sunburn I got was when I went to Aruba a couple of years ago. I was out in the sun with no sunscreen and ended up spending the rest of the week burning hot. Came home with a case of sun poisoning on both my legs. Ever since then, I keep my white ass out the sun unless I got a lot of sunscreen on.

When I was stationed at Goose Bay, Labrador, a friend of mine fell asleep under a sunlamp and got a severe burn. He was informed that he could be court martialed for dereliction of duty as his primary duty was to keep himself fit for duty. But they took pity on him and figured he was suffering enough.

The few times I have burned, I sat in a tub of warm water; usually a bath tub, but most easily accessible was a hot tub. The tub took away the burn, but it did burn a little. Make sure you put on some sort of moisturizer after you get out of the shower/bath tub BEFORE you dry off so you lock in the moisture. Reapply a good moisturizer every few hours on the burned spots.

I've always used cider vinegar. It stings when you put it on, but goes away quick. Then it soothes, and prevents (I don't know how) most peeling.

If I get a bad sunburn, I use Pure Aleo Vera often to moisturize and it also cools.

Good point Cheri. A friend at Lake of the Woods told me about getting in the hot tub to help a sunburn. I thought she was a little crazy at first, but it really works! Once you ease yourself into the tub, your body goes to work to cool the skin down. I was pleasantly surprised!

I have a 42 foot morgan sail boat that I dearly love sailing...however several summers ago I bought myself an 18 foot catamaran just for me to sail close in around the shore...I live on the Gulf of Mexico...I could wait to take it out and the following day was overcast , cloudy but the wind was great...sooo off I went...once out on the water I decided to ditch the swim suit and do a bit of nude sailing..I put on some sunscreen thinking it was enough since it was a cloudy day and I was not going to be out on the water long..
OOOO did I pay for that mistake...talk about red...I was blistered ffrom head to toe...nothing seemed to help at all...it was pain and suffering for a week...its a good thing I work at home...

I was in Jamaica about 6 years ago. This was before becoming a nudist. The sun was really strong, even in December and the was I was sitting in the same spot almost all week. Since I wasn't really tanning, I didn't think to turn over to get even amount of sun. I also don't really burn, but I did get a lot of sun on the inside of my left leg and the outside of my right leg, so those areas were really tan and the other side was my normal color. Luckilly, when I got home to New England, I was wearing pants in the winter, so no one else noticed.
