| I still don't understand the absolute, yes or no thing. If you are on a nude cruise, technically "clothing optional", would you get dressed to eat in the dining room, or eat naked at the buffet? Of course you would rather eat nude, but would you skip the dining room every day? Remember, no steak, no lobster, no fancy desserts etc. Sorry sunbunny, for the rant. | Yes, for what it's worth. I live in South America, in a city with a traditional culture and a cool climate, so I only get to be nude in my apartment except on rare vacations. I've looked into nude cruises, in case I meet a single lady who would like to go with me, and there are a number of times and places where nudity is not permitted. Partly they are just upholding the dress-for-dinner-and-show cruise experience, and partly they seem to be trying to keep the minority of swingers from running wild. | |
| Jim, From what I understand (have not been on a "nude" cruise YET!)...you have to dress for meals in the dining room. Not sure what constitutes being dressed. LOL | |
| Thanks. I've only cruised once and was seasick the whole time (major headache but not nauseous) so I've been reluctant to repeat. However, the idea of a nude cruise seems VERY appealing. Jim | |

| Just because you don't go outside nude doesn't mean that you are not an absolute nudist. You ARE a nudist as much as you can be within the framework set FOR you by others. YOUR choice is to be naked anywhere and anytime. My vote says that you are still an absolute nudist. With me living in an apartment complex that is not even clothing optional, I'm not nude outside my apartment but EVERYONE here knows that I wold be if allowed. John | |

| Absolutely! My last vacation I spent 7 days nude. After getting dressed to return home I realized, clothes not only were uncomfortable but they kind of hurt! I wanna be free! | |
| BareontheCape, I think Jim stated it well. Be discrete where laws require. I hope you can get a vacation where people aren't so afraid of nudity. Armadillo, it is always difficult to leave a vacation but after 7 days nude, I don't know how you did it. I'd find it hard to put anything more than a robe and sandals on to leave. It certainly would make the security check easy at the airport. | |
| Bare, sorry to hear about the incident. Depending on the circumstances and local laws, the neighbors may have been in the wrong and the police mis-informed (it happens a lot). Simple nudity on ones' own property in the absence of a sexual act is not always a crime. At any rate, you're still an AbNat in my book. :) Some day it will all seem silly when we look back and remember how our own natural bodies were criminalized when it was the small minds that needed to be locked up instead. :( | |

| I have been an absolute nudist from birth (to very conservative textile parents no less)! My mom will even back that up! I have hated wearing clothes for as long as I can remember. Started enjoying nude recreation on my own as a teen, and frequented a nudist resort in my early 20s. I'm still naked as often as I can be! My wife is just starting to get comfortable with her body for nudity. | |

| I assume you're defining absolute naturists as "People that understand, support, and desire to live nude as nature intended." Since we have no way of knowing what, if anything, " nature intended" that part of the definition doesn't really mean anything. I definitely am a person who understands, supports, and desires to live nude. If I lived in a warm climate where there were no legal prohibitions against public nudity I would rarely, if ever, wear any clothes. I consider myself a hard core nudist, I guess that is functionally equivalent to an absolute naturist. Note from SunBunny: Good point Bill, I will change the Mantra in accord. Thanks! | |
