Absolute Naturists Are Nudists/Naturists Cool People?
| Are nudists/naturist cool people? Everyone seems to think that the people at nude resorts are totally cool and open minded people just about everything. What do you think? (thanks Detach, your rant is the basis of this topic) | |
| in my limited experience I can say the nudists/naturists I have met at the resort and online have all been cool in my book... I went to read Detach's rant and personally I have not seen a lot of bling at the resort we have visited, nor has anyone talked negatively about my tattoos, in fact an older lady really liked a piece I have on my leg... I along with my wife have really enjoyed our outings and hopefully will continue to meet the same cool people wherever we visit... | |

| MOST nudists/naturists are cool people. For the most part, they are friendly, approachable and respectful, honest and trustworthy. But... We are also a cross section of mainstream society and some of the time...we live in that society more than the utopian environment we escape to from mainstream society, the nudist environment. We don't ALWAYS leave those mainstream hangups at the gate! Within the naturist/nudist community, we still have conservatives, moderates and liberals fighting over politics, religion takes no backseat to disrespectful banter with some, and we still have status groups within a community that supposedly goes to these places to be naked and stripped of status. We are not ALL cool people but...I'd have to say that I've met far more cool people in one day at a nudist venue than I have in a year around town and around my neighborhood! ;) | |

| In all my experiences, I would say that Nudists are no different on the Cool Scale as the Textiles... they just prefer to be nude and some prefer to be naked (yes there is a difference). I think sometimes people are lulled into thinking all nudist are cool because you usually encounter them in only recreational settings where people are laughing, having fun and being social. Take them out of that environment and they turn back into their trueselves... some nice, some social, some friendly, some funny, some showboats, some arrogant, some judgemental, some racist, some just complete buttheads. If you watch close, you will see those traits pop out every now and then at the clubs/resorts (as some of you have). The one caveat to this are the Naturists. For the most part they are the tree hugging, moss kissing, greenies of the nude living world and I mean this in a good way. They respect and are passionate about the connection between life and earth. I have always found them more open and accepting of lifes variables. You usually will not find them at a nudist resort. | |

| I don't know if nudists are a cooler people than mainstream society, but they are a much friendlier society where even strangers are easier to talk to. I seem to make friends more easily at the resort than I do in everyday regular life. | |
| Yes, I have to say, that while I'm not going to click with everyone I come in contact with while at the resort, I DO sincerely believe, that WE, as nudists, are generally speaking, cooler than everyone else. | |
| Most definately YES. Where I frequently go there are nudists and textiles and without a doubt the nudists are more outgoing, friendly, ready to share food, care for the natural suroundings (cleaner), or join in group conversation. We are also more apt to gather and talk than the textile who usually shun us till they overhear our conversations and decide to join in or ask questions. It's funny how they know the nudists are the 'regulars' and know more about the area than another textile. In my opinion, nudists are more 'well rounded' people and thus much cooler people. | |
| yes, they are. But I would like to say that any people sharing the same lifestyle seem cool. So if love motorbikes, I will be inclined to see other motorbikes lovers as cool. Now, if you compare nudists to textiles, when you go to a nudist resort, people will feel cooler than in a non nudist resort, where people are more like foreigners to each others. It's probably because to be a nudist you need to be non judgmental. You look at others as human beings who share the same values, therefore you feel closer. Having said this, I feel nudists are really cool people. | |
| In my personal experiences, people due let their guard down to a certain extent while naked. Therefore are nicest when naked and forming that comradery. Then at times some people gather up that guard again, personality, becoming click-ish, Soshes, as we called them in High School, down right unhappy. To me that is all fine and dandy. I'm a lot older now, and remember the times I told myself, I am not responsible to make others happy, but I will contribute to maintain ones happiness. I love happy naked people in my world. | |
| As I have said before, from my actual experience...NO. I live in a nudist reort and some of the people there, from the bible belt mind you, are some of the most bias, prejudice, racist, dumbasses you would ever want to meet. Nudist are people first with all their junk, nudists second. If you watch closely at any nudist resort/venue you will see it. Ever heard of a clique, there where you should start to look first. | A vast majority I have met are very cool and down to earth people. We have met a few uppity snobs but they are certainly a small minority. What we find so cool about most nudists is that subjects that are often not discussed in mixed company are much easily discussed when everyone is nude. Not sure what the psychological reason is for that but it usually holds true. | |
| Actually I have met some really down to earth wonderfull people in the nudist community. Some of them are cool also but the one thing to me that make them "cool" is that they are able and allow themselves to be accepting of everybody. Not everybody in the nudist community is accepting of everybody. That is what I was trying to get at earlier. Down to earth does not equal cool. As far as the "cool" nudists, I am not sure if that is a component of their nudity or just their natural character. Maybe it is their character that allows them and their values to be and feel open and accept social nudity as part of their life. In either case, complete acceptance seems to be the key to happiness. It makes the world a brighter and easier place to live in for everybody. Am I wrong? |
