Anime Lovin' Nudists
Ghost in the Shell
| Anyone see the movie? The main character is a female officer for a Japanese covert agency. She is also a cyborg with the ability to turn invisible. But she's completely nude when going invisible because her clothes can't turn invisible. I only bring this up because i feel that this is the only anime i've seen were nudity is given a semi-positive position, if you would call it that. She is nude because that is the only way she can turn invisible and perform her covert operations. It's really quite cool. What is everyone elses thought on this if you've seen the anime? | |
| I doubt very much that nudity in and of itself was on the mind of the writers... I mean, undressing to be invisible is an idea that's been around since The Invisible Man by H.G. Wells in the late 1800s. It's fairly common in any story involving invisibility. That said, there are other scenes in the GITS:SAC series where Motoko undresses in front of others without a second thought. I think this is more down to the fact that she's a cyborg though.... it's clear through the series that she sees her body as a tool, not as herself, so using it, exposing, etc, is not an issue. | |
| Sue Storm didn't have that ability in the movie... the suit changed with her, but nothing else did. (First movie I think...) |
