 Hello, and glad to find this group. I have been a nudist for several years now and have driven nude many times. Since I have found this group I am encouraged. Two weeks ago I drove from Alabama to Oklahoma and then back a week later. Twelve hours on the road with only a shirt unbuttoned most of the time. Traveling east to west and then west to east, I had the sun through the windshield for quite a while. It was wonderful. Passed one truck and the guy wasn't wearing a shirt and I had to wonder. My family is in Alabama and I work in Georgia so I'm back and forth every weekend, 2 hours of driving nude. Been making the trek for some time now and doing it nude more often now. Thanks for the encouragement!

 Keep doing it scinga. I'd love to make a nude road trip, especially if my wife would join me. My trips area always short errands or drives home from work, sometimes in daylight and others at night. I always feel more comfortable when totally free.

 I think there are plenty of "others" that drive nude but shy away from posting their stories or experiences because of the very few, vocal, anti-driving nude nudists and their claims that driving nude is more exhibitionist than nudist.

There are numerous activitites, both common daily and recreational where simply being nude is ... normal. I've gone to the mailbox in an open robe, I've changed the sprinkler in the front yard in sheer mesh shorts and even naked. I do almost everything in our backyard naked and ... yes, I also drive naked.

In all of these instances, I am aware of my surroundings and ensure that even though I'm taking a chance on being seen ... it is NOT my intent to be seen. I take many precautions so's not to be seen. Many of those things I posted are done very late at night or with reasonable cover to minimize the possibility of being seen.

This afternoon ... I was watering the trees in our backyard. I was of course naked and moving the hose from tree to tree. Our neighbors across the street have a slight view of our side yard and partial backyard but it is very minimal. They saw me moving the hose to another tree. I didn't prolong my position so they could see me for any longer than a second or two.

Driving nude is equally treated the same way with us. I've taken the precautions to dark tint my truck windows. The truck is high profile and even though I've tested the possibility of being seen over and over again ... I still keep a pair of shorts close by to cover my lap ... this is NOT being an exhibitionist!

The argument that this activity or part of our nudist life, is exhibitionist has puzzled me for some time. There are those that tell stories or relate experiences where there is a undertone of exhibitionism but for the most part, many of us that simply drive naked for the extended freedom we feel, could care less if anyone sees us and for exhibitionists ... it's all about the other person seeing you. That's not what many of us are trying to do when we drive naked.

 Fireprof, you have stimulated the mental jucies and I fully agree with you. I've always considered an exhibisionist to be perverted. My being nude is not about other people seeing me but about me being comfortable. I make every attempt to avoid being seen by others unless I know they are of the same persuasion.

I even went to the trouble to look up the word pervert since words tend to take on new meanings over time and get distorted in our own minds over time and I'm not an english major. I can find nothing perverted about being nude. Furthermore I'm not trying to attract attention to myself, as I cover up whenever I think I possibly might be seen. I certainly get no sexual gratification in someone seeing me and I'm definately not trying to attract attention to myself.

I fail to see anything morally corrupt to being comfortable but there could be an argument about nudity be misdirected (against what is generally accepted). However there is difinately a misconception that nudity equals sex. Furthermore, I believe that the media (especially TV) has exploited nudity equals sex along with violance and should accept responsibility.

OK, I getting off my soapbox. Is being nude comfortable for me? Absoutley. Is being nude cofortable for everyone? Absoutely not. Is there a misconseption about nudism/naturalism? Definately.

 I drive naked so often I really need to remember when I have others in the car with me. Especially during these warmer times of the year, I almost always wear shorts, t shirt and flip flops.

The vehicle I drive nude, most of the time, is parked on the street or in the driveway, so I usually have to slip on the shorts to get from the garage to the vehicle but once inside the vehicle, I immediately slip them off and place them on the seat next to me.

I've had family and friends in the vehicle with me, dressed as I stated above and began to lift my butt off the seat to slip off my shorts when I remember ... there are others in the car besides myself and my wife. I was caught a few times and asked what I was about to do and luckily ... we always have towels for the front seats and I just say ... I'm adjusting my towel. We've been asked about the towels and we just say it's to save the upholstery from wear and tear.
