| Fishing My lure is plenty shiny enough However my bait may not be liked by all fish I will not change my bait However nice the fish may be. I bait my hook & cast my line Waiting for my fish Plenty of nibbles are received as time passes However the big bite still eludes me. | |

| The Subconscious Life's a fragile dream, floating in the subconscious mind Like a Willow tree sways in the breeze For anything that we build to easily, may break under a strong persons stare As thin ice cracks & melts in the sun's glare Life's ultimate destiny is death, then death is our ultimate destiny So what's the meaning of life? | Stranger In The Night Alone... in a strange, dark misty world of shadows Here I am a stranger, cold & numb Not only to this world, but also to myself I can see myself in this world And yet I am asleep, dreaming I smell nothing, hear nothing... as though I don't exist. I feel my breath on my face, hot in the cold But cannot touch my face Eyes are watching as I walk through a maze of torment Trenches of a long forgotten war Bloody skeletons crawling with rats & maggots, buzzing with flies I feel nauseous & afraid. I scream & yet no sound comes from my mouth I wish to erase my vision, but my mind is wide open Although not believing all I see But taking it all in just the same What does it mean? And why am I the stranger in the night? | |
| How Do I Tell You? Another day goes by, I keep quiet. My heart is thumping, My heart is aching. I hear it in my ears. It won't be silenced. A little voice telling me, Tell him! Tell him! I feel like shouting, YOUR MINE, your mine. It's more than I can bear, Love hurts! | |

| My Forbidden Fruit Walking late one afternoon, we meet again My forbidden fruit Your long hair blowing in the breeze And a look of uncertainty in his eyes. Now thinking of my forbidden fruit Your hair, eyes & gorgeous smile Remembering a time full of memories The love, the hurt, the hate, the love. | My World is Spinning Beautiful sparkling eyes glance my way Carrying me off into the abyss Where I swim in a sea of passion Lost in your hot, sweet, lingering kisses I'm drowning in pleasure My world is spinning. | Not Truly Mine I lay beside my pillow and clutch to it so tight. Pretending it's you beside me, all throughout the night. This is how I sleep, knowing you lay near her. I hope she knows how lucky she is, to have you in her life. A tear runs down my cheek, as I remember the times we have together. Although I feel like a criminal, because I steal time that is not truly mine. You will always be special to me, even though I'm not your wife. I wonder if you'll ever love me enough, to fully enter into my life. | |

| Sea of Love Love is like the sea It surges with passion Waves bow down to the couple Who frolic it's moonlit shore. While swimming Carried off in a rip Water engulfs her mind & body As if giving a hug of death. The sea roars like thunder Crashing down on it's sandy shore As he cries out in anguish For that which the sea had taken from him. The sea becomes gentle Washing up her nakedness Just briefly, as though saying goodbye Before proceeding to take back, that which it has already stolen. | |

| Roses for Mother If roses grow in the afterlife, please pick a bunch for me. Place them in my mother's arms and tell her they're from me. Tell her I love her and miss her very much, can you see her lovely smile? Then place a kiss upon her cheek and hug her close for a while. | In the Afterlife Our loved ones never die, They simply help illuminate the sky. Lighting the sun and stars, by day and night, Vicariously awaiting by moonbeams bright. So they can catch a glimpse and do not totally overwhelm, Those loved ones they wait to greet, upon entering their realm. | |

| My Dear Children My Dear Children, you are my little rays of sunshine, That glitter and shine in my heart, my treasure chest. This chest is full of memories of your humour, kindness and love, That you give so freely in abundance, which never seems to wain. | My Special Friend There are so many things I'd like to say. But that would take me all day. Now I wonder where to start. Guess I'll say whats in my heart. There is one thing I know that's true. I'm so blessed to have a friend like you. Thanks for always being there. And showing me how much you care. As my new life starts to unfold, And I am learning how to take hold. | NOTE.... these are a few of my poems,,, I've used inspiration from a variety of the life experiences of my friends, family and myself. Have also had ideas from watching movies... I just need to pause it when I have an idea and write it down, then go back to watching the movie. Later I play with the words and the idea, until it sounds right to me. I try to write most of my poetry in a third person, so that others feel they can relate the poem to themselves. I hope you managed to find something amongst this collection you liked... cheers thanks for reading & sharing =D Bare hugs Emz PS: I am dyslexic, so I love the challenge of writing. It takes me many days before I'm happy with a poem I've written, I'm rather critical of myself. Therefore I hope I've not transposed too many letters in words & structured them, to show my "freedom of expression". |
