So who's looking forward to meeting the new companion?

I AM!!

Also, anyone know if this year's going to be another classic tale or just Christmas themed?

Just looked up the trailer, it does look like a good episode. I will never look at a snowman in the same way or turn my back on one.

evil snowmen, perfect.

Thought I saw a Silurian and not a Sontauran.

And Gambon doing the narration.

Let's see how the new companion fares.

I've got my DVR set and ready. Won't be able to watch it till next week so I don't want any spoilers.

Without giving anything away, I liked the episode. It leaves enough twists turns and mysteries to hopefully keep us entertained for some time.

we were both right. there is a silurian AND a sontauran.

Wow!!

That was a great episode. (no spoilers...) but I LOVED what they're doing with the companion!

Clara Oswald Oswin is the governess/bar maid. (jenna louise coleman).

she is the mystery woman/companion the Doctor will
be chasing/traveling with for the forseeable future.

I liked that they re-engaged a burnt out 11th Doctor with a mystery to solve "Who is she and what is she".

Yeah, it's a nice touch when they actually address the passing of a "favored" companion!

I thought the whole episode was awesome. The Sauntaran (sorry I suck with names) had me in stitches! And I loved the Silurian's line about being married!

I felt the "one word test" was a bit much, but it was a bit touching and it worked perfectly into the plot so....

The companion was originally the "insane" daleck in "Asylm of the Daleck's", and now a barmaid/governess, and in the future an (apparently) cheeky (college?) student. All of whom seem to share a communal memory of some sort based on the governess' tales to the children, and her final line....

I'm avidly awaiting the Snowmen DVD, for two reasons.

#1: The revamped Tardis

It's about time that they did away with that junkyard-retro look and the incessant flashpots and got back to what a TARDIS control room should look like.

#2: Jenna-Louise Coleman

Amy and Rory were pure gems, but a change was due. Some fans say that she's the next Sarah Jane. I'll wait and see, but I admit that when Matt Smith became the Doctor, I was skeptical.

Here's hoping!

I agree, not so much.... forgotten Sesame Street stage-set......

It almost even looks like a space-ship..... =)
