| Now that the weather is turning cooler and the wind is getting a bit cold, it won't be long before I take my boxer briefs and long johns out of storage. I would prefer to go commando but when the winter wind blows out of Canada, that extra layer between the weather and my skin makes all the difference. That is the only logical argument I have found for wearing underwear. | |

| Now that Suzanne and I have moved from icy cold Switzerland to warm and sunny Florida, I live nude at home all the time and wear as little as I can when we're out of the house. Typically it's just a T-shirt and short baggy shorts, giving my genitals lots of fresh air. It's almost as comfortable as if I were nude. Typical daytime temperature here in Naples, Florida, is ideal for loose shorts, even in the middle of winter. Lucky me. | |

| As a tradesman, I have tried everything. In hot environments like steel mills and bakeries, cotton anything doesn't work because it holds moisture, which leads to diaper like rash. Commando doesn't work due to abrasion against work pants which may have fireproofing chemicals in them, which aggravate the rash. Silk doesn't work because the moisture can't evaporate through the work pants. Powder falls out too soon to work more than two hours. What is the final answer to the most comfortable in the heat? A jock strap! You get all of the air as commando, without the abrasion! | |

| Well...to tell the truth, been going commando for over 40 years! Started way back in HS and never wore any since then. I once wore some to the Dr's office for an appointment. Got to the parking lot...they were buggin me to death. I took off my shorts and the underwear and threw them in the back seat. Since then, everytime I go to the Dr's, they will say, strip down to your underwear and I tell them...what if I'm not wearing any? They say..."ah, just stay the way you are, the Dr will be right in." LOL | |

But surprised no one mentioned the 2 reasons my generation were give for wearing tight underwear: to catch any drips of body fluids and to keep Mr. Dick under control should he decide to salute (especially important if one was wearing tight jeans!). But now I'm in my 70's and neither is a very valid reason anymore so I'm commando...ah, feels mighty good... | |

| Preference is nothing but when wearing regular pants the chaffing requires protection and I wear a thong (if the thread up the crack bothers the fit isn't right). The Jockey microfiber ones were great but they stopped making it. Next best is the Calvin Klien thong. Come on guys buy a few and keep this one from being discontinued. | |
| Another commando fan here. I rarely wear jeans. They just aren't comfortable, and dockers can go anywhere. On those rare occasions when I need to wear a dry-clean-only outer layer, boxer briefs. That's just in case they're serving something methane producing. | |

UNQUOTE That is from a post of Jul 5/09. Why put on briefs? As an old kilt-wearing soldier this is almost next to sacrilege. To be caught wearing the kilt non-regimentally (commando nowadays) would lead to a charge of being improperly dressed and a second charge of conduct prejudicial to good order and discipline. And believe me periodic checks (by mirror) were carried out. Were I to wear a kilt today there is no way I would underwear of any type. I do not wear the kilt nowadays but I definitely prefer commando for comfort. A funny side of this happened on duty in Africa in the early'60s. Shorts were issue wear and were worn sans underwear to prevent crotch rot and other unpleasant things. A friend of mine was on charge and required to remove his web belt and beret prior to being marched in. As he halted and came to attention down came his loose shorts and there he stood three feet away from the CO who immediately began to laugh uproariously as did the Sgt Major and the escort fought bravely to keep a straight face. The upshot was that the defaulter got off with a very light sentence. | |
| Here is just one of my thoughts... When you wear a pair of shorts and wear a pair of boxers with them, you are kinda wearing two pair of shorts.. I don't see the point. A non nudist friend the other day, wearing a pair of shorts said he couldn't go commando in shorts but wore boxers under.. Hmm... I still don't understand.. Lol.. | Don't have to be Scottish or Irish. If you like the feel of a Kilt go for it. Several Weeks ago a black man asked where he could buy one. Furthermore a Hispanic older gentleman congratulated me for wearing a Kilt. My house mate thinks people will have the wrong image of me. I think she is wrong. | All of the above... I know i cant actually wear any normal underwear when I'm doing yoga in class or it rides up and all... And the pants I have to wear for it are thin cotton, and rather tight... so any king of strange underwear that dosent ride up leaves weird underwear lines... so I have to go Commando there. I HAVE to, have to, have to,... wear Underwear with any Jeans I wear... those things are just uncomfortable commando... With those i usually wear some Boxer-Briefs or just Boxers (when I can find them... (For some reason every girl I have ever dated "ninjas" my boxers when they spend the night... and i NEVER get them back... Whats up with that? Do you chicas actually have a former-boyfriend-boxers-collection of some sort?)(Why not just buy boxers yourself...???) I I wear dress slacks, I CANNOT go commando or... well... | I wear boxers or boxer-briefs. Jeans can be rough on the bum depending on what brand you get, so boxers are nice to make it feel softer. And besides, I know how much people prefer not to see crack, and so it helps in the respectability area as well. | |

| So... What do those of you that go..."commando"...as I do, say when a nurse or doctor says..."strip down to your underwear please." ? I have a Dr's appt tomorrow and am waiting with anticipation...the reaction I'll get from the Dr or nurse. LOL I have a regular dermatologist. SHE knows that my wife and I are nudists and doesn't bat an eye or miss a beat when she says...get undressed and I'll be right back. We lay on the exam table and she does her thing. New Dr's seem to take a brief/momentary step back when they are told..."I'm not wearing underwear!" LOL | |
| I once had to travel to a VA hospital in another city to see a female Dr. I had not seen before. When she was ready for me to strip from the waist down, to check hips and knees, she asked if I were wearing any underwear. When I said no, she handed me a paper gown and turned her back while I put it on. There was still some accidental exposure as she was an orthopedic surgeon, and checking my hips without some unplanned exposure was impossible. We both treated it as no big deal. | |

| I honestly don't understand how a Dr can do a thorough and complete visual exam for dermatology reasons or orthopedic reasons...while you're clothed or partially clothed. Doesn't make much sense to me! I prefer a Dr that's not embarrassed to see me nude as oppose to one that is and won't give my body the evaluation and attention I'm requesting! ;) | |

| Well...two Dr's appt's down and at least two more to do. Didn't need to strip down at the dermatologist last week. Good thing I have my own Dermatologist...she's great, knows we are nudists and doesn't miss an inch during our exams with her. These Workers Comp Dr visits are a joke! I'm driving 3+ hrs to these visits (one way) and these exams are taking 15 to 25 mins. On the sheet from the doctor's offices...it states that these visits can take 2-3 hrs...hmmmmmmm haven't had one of those yet! :) | |
| Comando. Before that it was boxers. A friend saw me ironing them and said "I don't iron nickers". So I tought I wouldn't even wash them. At the end of the day I tore them up and very soon I had none left. | |

| I've opposed boxers by the pair, they've never lasted seven rounds. I've heard briefs wont ever last that long, then they all fall down. They say commando is the way to go, that it simply can't be beat, but you're wrong about the thongs, as they belong upon your feet! I don't care a jot what gitch you got, or the undies you praise and preach, So long as you're buck nekkid when your arse gets to the beach! |
