 Now that it's passed, I'd like to hear what everyone's take is on the economic stimulus bill.

Personally, I think it's a good start in turning the economy around - but more needs to be done, and the Obama administration knows it.

Also, shame on the Republicans who voted against this bill - which would be all but three Senators.

 This keeps getting more interesting. Apparently there are at least 5 Republican governors - including "Michael" Palin in Alaska - saying that they won't take stimulus money. One of them happens to be from a state that's in dire need of such money - Louisiana.

On the other hand, it's nice to see at least one Republican governor - Governor Schwarzenegger of California - saying that his state will take any stim money that the Alaskas and Louisianas don't want. Also, Governor Crist of Florida has said good things about it.

So, by my count, that's five Republicans in favor of the stim: Governor Schwarzenegger and Crist, and Senators Collins, Snowe and Specter.

 Congress does need to be reformed. I'll vote for that in a minute. However we citizens LOVE to bash Congress as a whole, but are very reluctant to oust our own Congressmen....especially those who bring home the bacon.

As for the stimulus bill...I'd rather get something sweet passed like a credit towards Federal Student Loan repayment for volunteer hours. I could pay off my loan quicker and put more of my own money into the economy.
