Is Florida the only place in the world that has get togethers for singles? That is the impression I get from the posts made in this group. Tel me why we are not hearing from other places.

My only familiarity with Texas and nudism is Hippie Hollow near Austin. I'm sure there are groups near Austin, Houston, and Dallas.

So often I have read posts on different sites about talking to women about naturism and the negative response they get.
I have now talked to 3 women about the fact that I was a nudist. In the most recent incident I was talking to my new house mate about the fact that occasionally I go to a nudist resort. Her response was ?You should go there often? and that is from a person who just moved in the first of this month.
She brings up the topic of being nude often so at some time when I go there for a day trip she probably will go but I have to hear that from her.

I am glad that I live in Florida and that the commercial clothing optional resorts have a lot of special events for singles. I was once interested in a local naturist club in North Florida but was treated like I had the plague because I was not part of a married couple. I was told that unfortunately they had exceeded their quota of single men (even though I never met another single man at their meet and greets). I was also turned off by how clicky the members were anyway.

I have been lucky to meet and date several women who are naturists. They tell me that if it wasn't for me, they would also miss out on going to the resorts and participating in other nude events. The married women tend to see my female friends as a threat to their marriage. I guess the married couples see me and other single guys as disease ridden perverts. Generally, I and my other single naturists friends have little interest in getting to know such closed minded and opinionated people.

Sorry to be so negative, but I feel better when I vent about morally superior naturist couples. Glad to finally find a group of nude singles.

I always though Texas would be home to more nudist resorts. It has to be tough to spend 4 months of 100+ degrees fully dressed..lol

Cypress Cove used to have great singles weekends and a great restaurant. Both have gone a bit down. The other resorts that cater to singles, "can't get there from here". No roads go direct or even close and makes for a long 3 hour drive thru large cities.

One of the biggest things I found in the singles groups as well as with the couples, if you smoke, your treated as second class nudists while the rest spend their time getting and staying drunk and I don't drink!

When NUI (Nude Under the Influence) people are a lot different than when sober. Sometimes that's good too!! I would just like them to remember me when they are sober.

Thanks to Bellaluna for her post regarding the double standard for singles at clubs and especially regarding the demonizing of single males in the nudist club community. Maybe one day all of the AANR clubs will understand that it's unfair to penalize single males simply because of who we are. Over 20 years ago, I was lucky enough to be accepted as a single male at a great club in Pennsylvania that didn't restrict my initial visits based upon a "favorable male/female ratio" as some clubs do. I subsequently joined, bought a trailer and leased a seasonal lot there. I also formed lasting friendships with many single men, women and couples. For the past several years after moving to Florida I've been going to the legal nude beach at Haulover Park in North Miami-Dade, where the only requirement to visit is to pay the $6 parking fee. I'd also like to add that over the years and at various venues I've been hit on by single women and couples -- so much for single guys being the perps!

I am single male nudist in 20's. As whole nudist movement is discriminates against singles and esp single. They say they dont want to have to many males to scare away women. Reality they do little to encourage women. Young adults are gold mine for nudist movement. Instead focus is on so called family oriented resorts. Realityi been to many with few families with kids and dominated by older couples. Many ways nudist resorts are gated nude retirementclubs.

That said, i beento few resortsthat arent to bad. When i lived in conneticut, i saw on one late shows monolog on how nudist movements having trouble attracting young nudists and mentioned How resort in conneticut is trying called solair. I winded up going there, people were nice and they ad no problems with me being single male. Though they are struggling to figure ways to get young adults they didnt discrimate. I also saw more even mix of ages and sexes.
I now live in washington state not far far from Seattle. I went to one clubs. Though not quiet welcome arms i got fromsolair, they didnt discriminate. They evenhad rate for college and military. They also hosted a bare buns run, one of three official locations and nudestock.

So there are resorts that do accominate but thats not enough.
I actual have thought why dont nudist club sponsar nudist clubs at local universities. Just thought, why not hold art festivals, workshops, drawing classes or things like yoga or environmental something like thatto get interest.
Many resorts say advertizing to get yougth costly. Maybe it wasin past but in world of facebook, myspace, twitter and video bloggs cost is net connection and time.
Most resorts have families with nude kidsin college. Resorts could help willing nude students to attractyoung nudists.

Resorts and groups also need to become more proactive element to communities they are next to. Participate in adopt a street, have booth at community fairs. When such clubs are viewed as helpfull(little weird) element to community that attracts positive attention

Also many resorts say there arent enough young women. Well do something to attract them

i can go on and on but my two bits worth. I want to do moreto get younger nudist. Nudist philosophy needs to continue and get message out and youth are key.

I don't know how to attract younger people to nudism. The fact is that most of the resorts are like retirement communities and most of the beaches at least here in Southern California have been annexed by the gay cruising community and gawkers. The places that aren't retirement communities are couples only. The missing factor seems to be the freedom of being naked and yourself.

I happen to think that the ability to accommodate singles and younger people are intertwined. My Club Tallahassee Naturally hosts full moon skinny dips at our lake once a month. For people that have never been before there is almost always a campus meeting and carpool spot. Low and behold the majority of the young people that visit the lake are not their just with their gf/bf but with their friends and maybe not all but allot of them are single.

Don't rely on some site to set up get togethers in your area organize events your self. Your attitude can improve your potential in meeting people. Sower graps will not help you.
