Absolute Naturists arrow Questions for single/solo males

Thankfully I have never been turned away but like others have mentioned I try to research places and do not bother with those resorts that could deny me.
I visited Gulf Coast Resort in Brooksville
FL a few years ago before joining my local club. Even though I was allowed entry, I found the majority of staff and residents to be rude to me at least as a 22yr old single solo male. It was also my first time at an actual resort as an adult and I was visiting someone who lived there. The well known fact that I was visiting someone who was in the LBGT community likely was the reason for the odd treatment.
After attending the MidWinter Naturist Festival at Sunsport Gardens I got my TNS membership so I have always presented my TNS card everywhere but at the more privately owned aanr centric resorts it gets the occasional hard looks like its fake or something. Paradise Vally in Dawsonville GA is a perfect example where a female friend and I were attending an event but they inspected my card harder when we said we were not a couple and were paying our own separate grounds fees. Not sure if it would matter if I had an aanr card instead. As much as I think aanr has an unmentioned don't ask, don't tell thing going on, that and other issues seem to be bubbling to the surface and a dialog is finally beginning. Although I have only visited resorts myself in the South East US the rude behavior and vocal disapproval I encounter comes mostly from the snow birds rather than the residents that live in these resorts year round. As far as resorts claiming a gender quota the animosity is projected from those older single/solo males that have been members or residents for eons with this attitude like new s/s males are a threat or throwing off the ratio they themselves are already offsetting. Bare in mind these guys are/would be bigots in other realms like race and creed anyway. I have had good and bad experiences at the places I have returned to and try not to let the occasional BS of a single visit spoil everything for me. Granted the attitudes I'm talking about are part of what has fueled the rise of new young nudist and naturist groups because the old guard does not have a clue. Often annr comes off like a good sams club for private resort business and membership seems more based on 100% club numbers than actually offering an incentive to enjoy nude recreation for those people not able for whatever reason to stay longer than 4 nights in a resort. It could be argued that annr resorts uphold annr standards however not all clubs and resorts play by the same rules and the "standerd" is becoming more assumed without a real way to insure enforcement, specially with language like "family nudism" and and "21 and over" being used at the same time.

I may be mistaken but I thought there was a North East Florida Naturist group and I also heard about a club in Jax. Have you checked the TNS and AANR club listings?

Im typing this from my tent via Sunsports WiFi Festival starts tomorrow > one thing I keep hearing is the lack of young people attending venues but I beg to differ. I think young people get a bad taste in there mouth after a first time visit and they find not only is the age group a minority but find there is a strange distribution of older people that are accepting or not of their presence. I credit this prejudice to plain old bigotry and regardless of where you go naturist or not there will always be that element. From the time I arrived most older people say hello and are very friendly but there are the odd stares and unreturned greetings. this has differed greatly from other places but I think there is a constancy happening.

Absolute Naturists arrow What Would be your dream community

The prospect of nude law enforcement would be a little odd and probably wouldn't be feasible. I think a city would be too large to start out with especially when it came to the community like Wayne said. Perhaps a small town that shared a county utility company or energy co-op that way there is room for expansion without being totally cut off from outside supplies and resources. I worry this community would need some sort of incorporation or sponsorship of some sort otherwise the taxes or dues needed to upkeep the town would be ridiculously high. Later on if tourist dollars started flowing and there was some sort of other production going on in time it might be able to self sustain. Warm claimant is great for certain types of produce and if building from the ground up allot of alternative energy sources and green building materials could be used that would make operating cost much less.

I happen to think that the ability to accommodate singles and younger people are intertwined. My Club Tallahassee Naturally hosts full moon skinny dips at our lake once a month. For people that have never been before there is almost always a campus meeting and carpool spot. Low and behold the majority of the young people that visit the lake are not their just with their gf/bf but with their friends and maybe not all but allot of them are single.

I like the ad Idea and the same information could also be printed on flyers and posted on bulletin boards and telephone poles around your campus. Making a separate Facebook group would be a great way to coordinate the response.

Most of my friends, at least the ones that know are very understanding and supportive although some will say its not for them. What I find amusing is when my friends and I are in a private pool or swimming at night somewhere, its the girls that end up suggesting skinny dipping and the guys are the ones who get embarrassed that others regardless of their long and close friendships, would be seeing their genitals. The majority of the time all agree to respect the modesties of everyone in attendance. My friends that have a spouse or are in a relationship would not be comfortable at all doing anything sexual around the others and would not approve of such things in their company. I think taking them to a nude beach would be a great way to break them in but the nearest nude beach is pretty far away, but some of them have expressed an interest in seeing a resort.
Tattooed Nudes arrow What do you say to piercings?

piercing is not for me and I still have none. I think it looks great on other people but I think its a personal preference. Many of my friends are heavily tattooed and have quite a great many piercings all over their bodies a well as few of them are tattoo artists and piercers themselves. Facial piercings are the most commonly seen but other body piercings a and other body mods are coming back as we near the end of the decade. Here in Tallahassee we have almost nine or ten tattoo shops and piercing parlors. Many tattoo shops have an in house piercer and because of the amount of vocational schools and universities in this are many of them are becoming registered nurses because of the obvious sterility needs of such an environment as well as dealing with allergic reactions not previously known to the customer. Because this is a college town and there is a large art and music culture its pretty common to see both girls and guys with snake bites and or septum piercings. However one particular trend that is receding are ear gauges. Some people I know have the holes in their ears gaged up to almost an inch and a half in diameter. I have often mused that they resemble Buddha but only jokingly. Due to employability many of them have taken out their plugs and allowed their ears to slowly close up over the corse of a year or so some just slowly gage back to a smaller more acceptable gauge plug. As a result of certain allergic reactions allot of body jewelry is being made of glass and special non abrasive plastics that can be sterilized and be antibacterial.

On another note I can understand why certain body piercings are not appropriate to certain nudist social interactions especially when it comes to kids, at the same time Im not taking my tattoos off, nor do I view them as vulgar or tasteless

Hello everyone and thank you for accepting me to the group. Im of corse single, Im 22 and live in Tallahassee Fl. My parents and I visited camps and resorts when I was a kid, but now that I am an adult some of the same places that I visited before will not allow me entry because I am a single male. Im sure that had my parents invested in a membership of any kind this would be less of a problem due to family ties and names on file, however it was not really cost effective for us as we were always vacationing and did not frequently attend resorts. My parents also payed dues to other organizations they were involved with. Now that I am a legal adult above the drinking age I can certainly see why there would be apprehension because of the way alcohol can and has been responsible for a persons less than appropriate behavior. Regardless of a persons choice of libation, your conduct is what speaks for itself. My perspective on dating and relationships is I want to be friends first and lovers second. At the moment I am quite comfortable being single.
