As a long-time nudist (my wife and I started going to "camps" in 1966), we, too, are sick and tired of reading about erections, shaving, tattoos, etc. I never intended to go there. When "slow dancing" was discussed, I thought we were going to discuss a legitimate problem that sometimes occurs. Sorry about the misunderstanding. I guess we'll both just remain on the sidelines for a while.

Women need to understand that it's not always voluntary or controllable (although I suspect they know more about the subject than we think). Yes, you can sometimes "keep it down" during a slow dance, even with brushing up against someone's warm skin, but as you yourself pointed out, it takes concentration. It's not easy working against nature.

Nudesuncpl Posted: Mar 3, 2012	From what I know about "pole dancing," it seems to be the new "in" form of exercising. Sure, there's a sexually-enticing side to it, but there's also an appreciate-the-muscular-control side to it. That being the case, I don't see anything wrong with it in a nudist environment. It's the same old argument about liquor and dancing in general: "OMG! The men won't be able to control themselves!" Well, guess what ladies -- and others -- we CAN control ourselves! We can appreciate the beauty of a human body and the work that goes into pole dancing, belly dancing, or any other form of dancing, without suddenly becoming savage brutes who must respond to the urges of our erect penises! So let "pole" and other dancing continue, and let's appreciate it for what it is: a lot of hard work and exercise, that's really fun to watch.

As for the "something in the Dining Room" rule, there's absolutely no reason to go into the dining room unless you want that kind of "cruise dinner" experience. There a food places all over the ship, and they operate almost 24 hours a day. If you really want to leave your suitcase unpacked, it's possible to do so.

(That's not the way she talks; she's imitating them.)

Nudesuncpl Posted: Nov 13, 2011	We've been on two nude cruises, and we LOVED them. Frankly, they've spoiled us for any other kind of cruising. As to the "dining room" rule, yes, you have to be dressed in something to have dinner in the dining room. But there are many other places around the ship where food is being served virtually 24 hours a day. So there's no need to go in the dining room at all. The only other rule is that you must be "covered" in something when you're in port. For many people that means the smallest possible g-string for gals or pouch for guys. We've never had any crew member say, "Hey, that's not covered enough!" In all, it's a great experience, with plenty of freedom and lots to do 24 hours a day. We recommend it.

The rest of the time we're in our private backyard where the grounds fees are a lot less. (But on the other hand, there's nobody to make the Pina Coladas for us.)

We're expecting 4 inches of rain over Saturday and Sunday here in the Palm Beach area, and I don't like the idea of driving 2 1/2 hours in that kind of weather. Guess we'll have to wait for the next "official" meet-up in April to meet our cyberfriends in the flesh.

It's the same rule cruise ships impose on clothing optional cruises: "no nudity in the dining room." Why? We have nude dinner parties on a regular basis, and can't see why there's a difference between eating and any other nude activity.

As I recall, it's fairly well protected from the sun. We can go inside or eat outdoors, and one we introduce ourselves make plans for the day We'll probably arrive a noon. I'll bring a Nikon if we want to take a good photo of the group. Let's play it by ear. Does anyone have a nudist clubhouse towel? Perhaps you could stand it up around Cheeks.

But I'd like to see this board be more Florida-centric. After all, we're among the few who don't have to worry about the weather and can just be "nekkid" all year. My wife and I have been doing it since we moved here 20+ years ago, and we're heading to Cypress Cove this weekend to meet - hopefully - other NCH members. Anyway, one or the other of us are onlline once a day. If you need someone to step in for a while, you can call on us.

Nudesuncpl Posted: Sep 28, 2011	I agree with fbh1 and FireProf. If nudity were legal, we would evolve into a European paradigm, where some people would choose to be nude at the beach or in public parks, while others would choose to be clothed. Gee, that sounds like something called "tolerance" -- what a novel idea. I doubt that we'd ever get to the stage of "nekkid peepul in WalMart" but I suppose there will always be one or two that just HAVE to push the envelope, which generally screws things up for everybody else.

I'm perfectly willing to discuss it with anyone who raises the issue. A casual, "Oh, we went there once," is enough to start a conversation if the person is interested. AANR (or ASA) used to sell a polo shirt that was embroidered, "Ask me about my tan lines," but they discontinued it years ago before I got up the guts to buy one. A favorite "discussion starter" of mine is to casually mention, "Oh, yeah, we spent the weekend at a really nice resort near Tampa called Paradise Lakes (or whatever). If the person is "into" the idea of nudism, he or she will recognize the name and same something like, "I've heard of that place . . ." and the conversation rolls on.

Walking into the kitchen just now, I suddenly got the feeling, "Hey, I really like being NUDE!" I guess that makes us "absolute naturists," and we express our regret for any of you who are not. Nudesuncpl Posted: Jul 3, 2011	We finally got it! After months of reading messages like "Do you practice nudism in hotel rooms?" etc., today we finally got it! Okay! If "absolute nudists" means "being without clothes whenever and wherever possible," that's us. And we're happy about it. Case in point: when we get home from our respective professional offices, we STRIP. We cook in the nude, have dinner in the nude, go to sleep in the nude, and wake up in the nude. On weekends we stay nude as much as possible. When we're in hotel rooms, we STRIP as soon as the bellperson leaves the room. We unpack, watch TV in the nude, etc., etc., etc. We FINALLY understood what everyone was writing about subject when we were on this three-day weekend. We're home, in the NUDE, and doing backyard chores in the NUDE, and grilling, and going in the pool, etc., etc., in the nude. About 4:00 o'clock today (July 3rd) we realized, "Hey, we're NAKED! And we're lovin' it. So, I guess we're "absolute nudists," whatever that's supposed to mean. We love our lifestyle, and we encourage everyone else who has tested it to jump in and enjoy it!

She could never find anything in writing, and I finally convinced her to do it my way. If anybody knows of a Florida law that requires draping, I'd love to hear about it.

I've convinced three different massage therapists to eliminate the need for draping, but it's always been after a number of visits in which we casually discuss the subject of nudity, usually with me beginning the conversation with something like, "Well, my wife and I have both been nudists for years . . ."

No erection, no so-called "happy finish" -- just do the massage and don't worry about it! I'm finally getting a nude, no-nonsense massage. It's great!

We're "practicing" religious people, and prefer several denominations. We're also "practicing" Republicans for the moment -- that may change. Point is, we're nudists. We go naked in the backyard, and in hotel rooms, and at nude beaches and on nude cruises. We don't "do nudism" in the backyard. We are nudists who happen to have a private backyard. Once again, we apologize to all those who don't have the same privilege.

We think of nudism as a way of life, indoors or out. We're pretty much always nude at home, which (we think) makes us "practicing nudists" rather like "practicing Baptists" or "practicing" whatevers. The fact that we're often nude in our pool and private backyard just means that we're nudists in the pool or backyard. We're not sure this makes sense to everyone, but we're "practicing" nudists who are naked in a whole bunch of places. We sincerely apologize to everyone who does not have the same freedom. We don't mean to be rude, but we really think there is a difference between "practicing" nudism and being nude.

(I give it Miracle Grow every two weeks.) My wife and I -- and some close friends -- NEVER wear clothes in our Florida backyard or in the house, either. On day one or neighbors was on a short stepladder and asked me if I had seen a Possum. We chatted for a few minutes, he on the ladder and me in the buff. If he didn't know we were nudists before then, he knows it now! Can imagine moving back up North after living in paradise.

They are planning to invite us to there place in a week or two. So, guys and gals, give out a little of your information. Tell people generally where you live, and you may get to meet some very nice friends.

I'll admit to that, but, heck, I was 18 years old (maybe 17) and just barely (sorry) able to get into one of those horrible moldy adult bookstores. Once I got past the pictures of the naked women and the thrill wore off, it seems like such a nice, open, free way of life. As I said somewhere else, my wife and I tried it (I was 20, she was 18) the year before we got married, and we've been nudists ever since. Did anybody else pick up one of those magazines for the wrong reasons? C'mon guys, you know you all did! Fess up!
New to Nudism Erections

On our very first visit to a nudist resort (I was 20 at the time!) it began happening as my soon-to-be wife and I were walking toward the clubhouse. Just the feeling of the cool air set "it" off. I said, "I have to sit down right away!" So we instantly found a place where I could relax and conceal what was happening until it went away. It's really not a major crisis; you just have to use a little common sense and courtesy.

(No they weren't we were just horny.) We both loved it (the nudist camp) and we now live in Southeast Florida where we have a private backyard, pool, jacuzzi, and nudist friends. It's been a Wonderful Life (or was that the name of a movie?)

Several years ago we met some folks at the Cove and after talking for a while, we found out they lived in our area. So we planned a "Backyard Bares" party at our house. Well, it turns out nudist couples often know one or two other couples, who know others. Now we have a list of regulars who share our private backyard. It only takes a first time.

Anyway, IOHO (in our humble opinion), "the" place to visit is Caliente. Yeah, we heard all that stuff about swingers taking over the place. Well, maybe that's true if you're in the hot tub at 2:00 a.m. and acting like you want to be approached. The fact is, Caliente is a four-star resort with a fabulous restaurant, sports bar and all of the amenities. There's also Paradise Lakes, which used to be #1 (IOHO) and it still has many things going for it. Perhaps not as delux, but very friendly, and very, very nice. Then there's Lake Como Club. We've never been there, because we've always been to the other two places. However, friends of ours assure us it's a real nudist resort, with many amenities and no baggage. The Forest, next door to Caliente seems to be more of an R/V, camping place. We've never been there, either, so can't really comment. Cypress Cove is in Kissimmee, and is a wonderful nudist community. Not as upscale as Paradise Lakes or Caliente, but much more family friendly. It's a real nudist community, and you should go there if for no other reason than the experience of it. We go there much more often because it's closer to us in Palm Beach. We'd be happy to introduce you to any of these places if your serious about it.

Tampa -- actually Pasco County, just north of Tampa -- is recognized as the "Nudist Capital of the World." If you're really interested in our way of life (don't use "lifestyle" 'cause that means swinging) check out Paradise Lakes, Caliente, Lake Como Club, and many, many others. And you could also tell the new owners of your house, "I don't mind if you go nude in the backyard all the time. I always did, and I still do!

Nudesuncpl Posted: Jan 27, 2010	Well, first you have to know some nudists. And then you send an e-mail or make a phone call and say, "How about joining us for a clothing-optional dinner?" It's customary for guests to get undressed in private, so offer the use of a guest room for that purpose. They go in clothed, and come out nude (and carrying towels), and depending on weather, everybody heads for the pool or jacuzzi, or (in winter) the TV room for the football game. It's just like any other party!

Nudesuncpl Posted: Jan 18, 2010	The weather has finally warmed up here in South Florida. We've been nude since noon Sunday (following church services and a trip to the mall). Spent much of today cleaning up the backyard. The cold spell knocked heck out the the foliage; thank goodness for the privacy fence.

The point is, we live in a real-life, ordinary "textile" community on the Southeast Coast, and we have many friends who don't run around "butt nekkid." At the same time, we have some nudist friends, and we have enjoyed hosting parties for them We are able to keep those two areas of our lives separate. How about you? How many Florida people are members of the Clubhouse? Are we going to meet you at Cypress Cove in April? Let's get this thread moving!

As dyed-in-the-(wool)(skin) Florida nudists, my wife and I are always nude at home in the privacy-fence-enclosed backyard. We life in Southeast Florida, and have had several clothing-optional house parties with selected friends. How to meet them is always the question. We met a couple of couples at Cypress Cove. We overheard their conversation and mentioned that we lived in the same area. Well, it turns out that nudists know other nudists, and now we have a regular list of "Backyard Bares" friends.

Nudesuncpl Posted: Jan 3, 2010	Like many other seniors, I got the "nudist bug" from magazines of the 1960's. The oldest one I have is The Journal of American Nudism, Vol. 700, No. 5. Although there's no copyright date, there is an ad for subscriptions "New Rates Effective June 1, 1963." There are plenty of photos of women and families, and lots of pubic hair, but not a single penis in the entire 59 pages. And in two photos where they obviously should have been, the photos were rather unskillfully retouched to get them out. I also have a "Teenage Nudist" from 1963 which I just realized in Vol. 1, No.1. No retouching there. The people just seem to be having fun in the sun. I'd like to post the covers of both of these and stir up some nostalgia. Any hints on how to do it?

We'd live there if our textile jobs were there -- but they're not! If any of the group happen to be visiting here, we have a very private backyard and host several nude dinner parties every year.

Nudesuncpl Posted: Nov 26, 2009	Way to go, Cheri! When you're looking for a house, just tell the realtor, "We nudists." It cuts out a lot of unnecessary looking. We did the same when the fence company salesman came to show us samples. I just said, "We're nudists," and that told him everything he needed to know about fence design! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! It's predicted to go do to 50 degrees here in South Florida tonight. We'll have to stay indoors and maybe even turn on the heat!

Nudesuncpl Posted: Nov 20, 2009	The Garden of Eden is the third-floor rooftop bar of the Bull & Whistle on Duval Street. It's clothing-optional once you get up there. Cameras are frowned upon, but there's a "Garden of Eden" sign where you can have your picture taken.

Nudesuncpl Posted: Nov 17, 2009	Gosh, those were the days! My wife and I got our introduction to nudism at Sun Valley Gardens, up in Canada in 1966, the year BEFORE we got married! I had always wanted to "run around naked" and had a bunch of nudist magazines, and she agreed to go with me. We undressed at the car and started down the hill to the pool, but I had to sit down because I was getting a . . . well, you know. It's been a long time, but we're still together and still very much "naked" whenever we can be here in Florida. Let's hear about some first time experiences from those days. I have a few, but I'll save them for later.

Nudesuncpl Posted: Nov 15, 2009	We are lucky enough to live in Florida and we have a private backyard with pool, jacuzzi, and all of the trimmings. We're always nude at home in in the yard unless some textile friends come over. (We always tell people to call first!) Many of our friends are nudists as well, and we enjoy nude home parties with them, either at our place or theirs.
