There is plenty of room to build up the reputation and desire for more Naturist activities and awareness of what it does and doesn't involve around the state. I log in and check out NCH and Facebook daily and don't see a need to have to join another site when this one is already here and a group such as Michigan Nudists on NCH could be used for that purpose.

If I thought removing people would make the group more active I would, but I think the group will only be more active if there are topics that matter to the members and if the conversation doesn't wane quickly.

I'd guess by about 4 or 5 in the afternoon on Sunday, most of the people were on their home or other destinations. Sounds like you missed the group, most the members were wearing blue ID badge/wallets.

TimIAm Posted: Mar 6, 2011	I've been to Turtle Lake and Forest Hills, I like Turtle Lake better because there is more options of things to do. There are 2 pools, though the indoor is often used for water volleyball, and jacuzzi, lots of other outdoor sports (volleyball and minigolf for instance, and small lake with a sandy beach. Forest Hills is a bit more rustic and cozy with one pool, a jacuzzi, and a rarely used volleyball court. Forest Hills is nice if you want to meet a smaller group of people and enjoy a campground with lots of hills and a nice wooded feeling. Turtle Lake is offers more choices to spend your time and you will probably run into more people in your age range.

TimIAm Posted: Mar 3, 2011	1) I somewhat agrees with the privacy of the photos, but think that the main profiles shouldn't be hidden as it is helpful in knowing the creator of the profile. Many people choose to use either a clothed photo of something cropped for protection and that seems to work well. I think the key would be to let the individual decide the privacy level of photos. 2) The whole webcams in the chatrooms is dicey some nights and there are times I would like to control who is watching as well. 3) I'd also like to see some membership cleanup policies, too many time that show up as people you might like to know haven't even logged on in years. But I wouldn't want to see people being deleted for inactivity without being notified once or twice before it happens 4) I now get an email every time I post a comment and find that annoying. I know I left a comment to someone and don't really see the need to be notified by email of that.

TimIAm Posted: Aug 19, 2010	As a single I've been to the movies or dinner alone many, many times so going to a resort alone never seemed to be as much of a challenge as picking the time and having the cash to spare. The toughest part from a male perspective is keeping a balance of meeting people and seeming too interested. If there is a single lady in the pool or wherever I always have the mental battle with approaching her or being too polite and not saying anything. It often seems easy for friendly when you are a single guy to b mistaken for lurker.

If I can't read their profile and see common interests, friends or locations, then I have no reason to add them. If the profile is viewable then I make the decision based on what we have in common. Since this is an online community the number of people that I have turned down is pretty small. I will accept most people, but will remove anyone from the list who becomes an issue.

It'd be nice to see a more random selection of thoughts. Also some of the links, such as naturist calendars don't represent what they should. The random member feature is somewhat useless, since many of them choose to hide their profile and you really can't tell if you share common interests.

It seems like the chicken and egg dilema, new and younger people aren't attracted to sitting around for 4 hours but there is no one that attends regularly that takes on the sports angle. As someone who is single and under 40 I can understand the lack of appeal of taking a leap to join in when it's mostly just people I wouldn't know sitting around. It sounds like there needs to be a strong push to include those, whether family members or NCHers who are more active to be there and to do something besides sit in the pool. I guess it surprises me some that there isn't at least a minimum influx from EMU or UofM since the events are right in their backyard.

I agree that there are many types of nudism from the wholesome family to more of a sexual enjoyment, but I would be put off by the sponsorship of an event by Penthouse or Playboy at a nudist resort. To me this would like Old Country Buffet supporting a weight loss club.
