tommygunn Posted: May 12, 2013	I believe nudist resorts should be nudist resorts. You should be required to be nude unless you have a good reaon not to be. Some folks use a good excuse when they do not really have one. But how are you to know? If they give you a good excuse that there is no way of proving, you more or less have to accept the excuse. If they visit the club often though, the excuse is going to start wearing thin. Clothing optional places are an excuse to wear clothes if you want to. When some start putting clothes on a lot of others will follow until most, if not all are wearing clothes. Nudist resorts need to stress that they are nude places, NOT clothing optional.

However, if you are at a nudist resort you should be nude unless you have a very good reason for not being nude. That is why they are called nudist resorts. I resent clubs that call themselves clothing optional. Being clothed should not be an option unless you have a good reason for doing so. Well, anyway, that's the way I feel about it.

Every group has it's own culture and birds of a feather tend to flock together. Gays would congregate, in general, in certain areas as they do on nude beaches. And gays, especially guys, tend to want to have sex somewhere on the grounds. I know that I personally would not want to attend a club if their were more gay than opposite sex couples.

What most absolute nudists have in common is they make naturism a priority in their life and they have the opportunity to do so. Their are approximately 7.06 billion different personalities on earth today. If someone is open and comfortable with talking about nudism, fine, talk. Otherwise you probably should not talk about with them.

There are many reasons why more women are not on this site with more information in their profiles and why they don't join groups. Many of them turn out to be very practical reasons. Also, some of these ads are just "lure" ads to try and scam guys. My advice would be to respond to members only through this site and do not correspond off site until your are sure who you are dealing with.

I have always been a fighter and try to fight right by channeling my resentment into constuctive action that is going to help my cause, not hinder it. I would not have made it this far in life had it not been for my faith in God. It is my faith in God that makes me stronger each day no matter what I encounter. Nothing in this world is that important to fret over.

tommygunn Posted: Jul 13, 2012	I only recall vaguely the pictures I have of me bathing in the nude in a metal tub and walking around naked when I was three years old on my grandpappys farm. The first time I went nude in public was at a rock concert on Chuck Berry's farm in Wentzville, MO about 33 miles from my home in St. Louis. I was 18 at the time. At first, my girlfriend at the time, and another male friend of mine, skinny dipped in the one of the three ponds that were on the farm. Then we went skinny dipping in the swimming pool at the ranch house. There was about 25 people swimming nude in the pool at Chuck Berry's ranch house including some bikers that were also engaging in some overt sexual activity. Chuck Berry was on the second floor deck filming this activity. I believe you are all aware of Berry's exploits with filming this kind of activity. It was a memorable weekend. The first ASA club that I attended and where I camped-out for the weekend was at Hawthorne Lodge when I was 24. It is now closed and was 60 miles north of St. Louis. The first nudist resort outside of Missouri that I visted was in 1983 when I was 30 years old. It was Paradise Lakes in Pasco County, Florida. I was there before it got really built up. This was when the only swimming pool that they had was the one by the restuarant near the lake. There was a "tiki" bar and that white sand beach by the lake. When I went back there in 1996 I hardly recognized the place. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I joined ASA in 1977 when they were headquartered in New Jersey, I believe on Beachfront Street.

I have been to quite a few resorts/clubs and nude beaches and on a couple of cruises but the one and only hot springs I tried to get to I could not find. When I worked in Boulder City, Nevada about 20 years ago I heard about a hot springs down by the Colorado River. I remember hiking through some desert and into a wash between two canyon walls that lead down to the Colorado River. I saw a Big Horn Mountain Sheep on top of one of the canyon walls and that was a beautiful sight. When I got to the river there was a real pretty and isolated sandy beach with some willow-like foliage that I spent some time at. The hot springs was suppose to be about a mile south from there along the river cliffs. This was about 15 miles south of Hover Dam. I came to an unscalable cliff that was supposed to have a ladder but the ladder was gone so I had to go back. I took the same route back and walked completely naked from the Colorado River all the way until the canyon walls ended at the desert. Along the way a couple was standing on top of the canyon wall and saw me hiking naked happy as you please. I just waved and smiled and kept walking. It was beautiful scenery and a great nude hiking trail. I would like to know about some of you members' experiences with hot springs as they have eluded me so far.

tommygunn Posted: Jun 27, 2012	What we as nudist need to fear most is legislation that is antinudity. We need to be proactive and get involved in the political process. We can have fund raising dinners and other events to raise the money we need to fight nudity opponents. Part of our dues goes for that but most of all we have to have our voice heard in numbers. I am hoping the AANR will call on all nudists to rally when necessary.

tommygunn Posted: Jun 26, 2012	It all depends on ones definition of "thrill." If you mean a "rush" like in a real spike in your adrenaline I would say that never happened with me. If I want that kind of thrill I will just drive on over to East St. Louis and walk down a dark alley and see what I can find. Being a nudist definitely does NOT take the thrill out of life for me. I enjoy it like I have always enjoyed it and I have been a nudist for over 40 years and a member of AANR(ASA) for 35 years. I know some nudist who go to such lengths as skydiving out of airplanes. Now that is what I would call taking nudism to a thrill level. I have never done that and I think I will pass on that one. Most things in life are really a state of mind--what you like or don't like, your values, even what you consider a thrill.

tommygunn Posted: Jun 23, 2012	I would like to draw the analogy between casinos and nudist resorts. How many casinos can you build? How many nudist resorts can you build? There is a saturation point. Only so many can be built and only the strong survive. The nudist movemnet was founded in 1931. It will never die. It ebbs and flows but it is here to stay and I wouldn't worry about it. Naturalism is what you make of it. If all the clubs closed I'd still be a nudist. The economic times have something to do with the current state of affairs and many of the younger gen-Yers that are not nudists now will become nudist as they mature.

Every town we passed by, near, or through we would blow out a cloud and when it descended on a town, the people of the town would begin to shed their clothes and dance about and the community would see the light and become an absolute nudist community. We would march through Indian reservations doing Indian dances as we blew our clouds. Ride down the Snake River, Red River, Mississippi and others clouding all the towns until we get way down upon the Swanee River. For all the cops that try to stop us we could blow out cloud potion number nine. Anyway that's how I see it. "Comment as you see fit!"

tommygunn Posted: May 1, 2012	I was wondering how many of you have drove a distance of 100 miles or more nude. I remember driving home nude from the Lake of the Ozarks completely nude one time. It was 186 miles. The "big truck" drivers were about the only ones who might have seen me if they looked down. But I only saw them on the highway so they were either passing me or I was passing them. I drove careful hoping not to have an accident. A few days later I read an atricle in the newspaper about a guy that had an accident while driving nude.

Everyone that goes under the limbo bar does so spread eagle. The question is "How low can you go?" I have a blast at those hulas. It just goes to show that the body language has to be taken in context of the situation. Even then, if you don't know what someone is thinking or how they are feeling, you can't always judge a book by it's cover.

Maybe someone did, maybe not. I'll never know. Another time was when I went skinny dipping at Chuck Berry's farm about 33 miles outside St. Louis were I live. Chuck Berry use to have rock festivals on his farm every other week back in the early 1970's. I went skinny dipping in his swimming pool as did a number of other people. I am not sure if this qualifies as a public place but the public was there.

Everyone grabbed the person's hips in front of them to form a long chain. We all did the locomotion about the cataraman. With these kinds of activities on the ride over it was not hard to get to know some folks somewhat intimately. When we all got to the island to barbecue and party it was a great time. I had a BALL!

I have been to the places listed in my profile but not as often or to as many different places as I would liked to have been. I spent most of my life fighting the establishment. Right now I am fighting the state of Missouri to get my teacher's license. I can really relate to the folks "Occupying Wall Street." I have had to fight my whole life to try to find employement. I have met with discrimination, unfairness, and the powers that be up to this day. Inspite of it all I have managed to have some enjoyable times such as a cruise that I went on in 2001. A port of call on this cruise was Cozumel, Mexico. Their were three cataraman rides to a private island where we were to barbecue, play volleyball, get a tan, listen to music and party. There were also free drinks on the cataraman ride to the island. I had a terrific time and to make a long story short I missed my ride back on the second cataraman which was the one I came to the island on and on which I left my clothes. I caught the third and last cataraman back to the dock. Two guides helped my search the cataraman that had my clothes. No clothes were to be found and they were not in the tourist's lost and found area either. I had to walk right through the tourist area for about a half mile with nothing but a towel wrapped around me waving at the tourists.
