In Masham, just 4 miles down the road from me, There are two breweries that brew excelent beer. They are Black Sheep and Theakston. To me they are local but maybe they don't count as they are known nationally. My favoufate beer is "Towd Tup" from Dent Brewery - a micro brewery in Dentdale up in the nNorth West corner of the Yorkshire Dales.

My first time was in April this year. It was my first holiday alone, my first trip abroad and my first nudist holiday. It was also my first time naked with other people. I stayed in a small, family run nudist guest house. The welcome I got was so good I immediately felt at home. Being in the Algarve, Portugal the weather was hot and sunny, so it didn't take long to strip and sunbathe on the patio. The lady of the house came by with a cheery "caught you" and I was soon joined by other guests. It all felt so natural. Then we walked to the beach. Magnificent - nude beach and a bar. Well to cut a long story short, I enjoyed it so much I've been back twice since and I have another visit planned in November.

I've often vistied 2 lovely beaches on the South coast of Portugal, near the South West corner. That part of the Algarve is quiet and unspoit. The South coast is mainly cliffs, punctuated by sandy bays and creeks. They are not crowded even in August. One is Praia do Zavial - a long clean sandy beach with a bar/cafe at one end and the nudist beach at the other. It is a surfer's beach but it can be fun wading out and letting the waves wash you ashore. The other is just to the east. Praia do Furness is in a creek sheltered by high cliffs with caves and plenty to explore as well as the lovely soft sand. It is good for a swim. There are no facilities but nudists use the whole beach mixed in with the textiles. The countryside is so quiet you can risk a naked cliff-top walk. I stayed in a nudist guest house nearby and was "caught" when walking naked back to the guesthouse from the beach.

Just a thought - I've been sunbathing on a nudist beach thet was also a surfer's beach. Even the nudists donned wet-suits to go surfing. I enjoyed the vidio and thought it happy and relaxed, not sexploitetion.

When I was young my maden aunt refered to nudity as "being in the all together". Where did that come from? After all a nude isn't "in" anything.

And why are goose pimples called goose pimples?

A difficult question, especially as I'm retired. I have this fantasy of being stripped in public. Assuming my workmates were not going to throw a wobblie, such as being the model in a life class, I'd be happy to be the only one naked.

On the other hand I'd like to see what my workmates look like. But if they were all naked I'd feel over-dressed if I wasn't naked too.

My house was built before my nieghbours. I now have six neighbours who could overlook my back garden (back yard). BUT every time a new house was built I planted a tall tree to screen the view. Now I have a very private back garden and sunbathe, do gardening, mow the lawn... freely naked whenever it is warm enough. I have entertained a naked visitor there too.

On the theme of getting caught. Once, last January, I drove home naked, having left my clothes behind. As I entered the parking area I share with my neighbours I saw her washing her car. There was no escape and as I got out of the car she walked up and asked where she could dispose or her christmas tree. Our conversation ignored my nudity.

Nudity is legal in the Uk but making a diplay that upsets or distresses someone is illegal and that law is used to prevent nudity. I think that says it all. Unfortunately nudity does upset meny who see it as some sort of perversion they confuse with sex. So, for nudity to become commonplace it needs to be accepted by the wider public

I think being a nudist is a state of mind. With me that includes wanting to be naked whenever I can and knowing the difference between nudism and exhibitionism or sex. Being naked in company is a real treat, in my case restricted to holidays and occasional visits.

I told my family and close friends. They treat it with mild amusement, with one daughter teasing her church friends with it. One evening I left it a bit late drawing the curtains and I was seen. That night I was the talk of the village pub, so all the regulars know. Occasionally there is the odd good humoured ramark but mostly everyone treats me just the same.

My first was last week. Ok so I've been a nudist at home and on the internet for 5 months but this was my first taste of real nudism, face to face. It was my first holiday on my own, my first trip to Portugal and my first time as a nudist in mixed company. Yes I was aprehensive. But the warm, homely welcome I got at the nudist guest house quickly had me shedding my inhibitions. I was soon naked, quickly followed by others. The beach (Praia do Zavial) was a short walk away, with a bar and plenty of space in the nudist bit. Beautiful sand the colour of a well-tanned body, rocks and sea to cool off in. Absolute bliss. What struck my was how natural it all is, When we chatted it made no difference that one or both or all of us was naked. When a teenage girl introduced me to her boyfriend, we shook hands and said "nice to meet you" as one does. And I forgot I was the only nude in the room.

Now let's see... I always do the ironing and clean the house nude. Drive home nude whenever I can (last time was for 50 miles, last week end). Clear out the little stream that runs through my garden. And this morning I was up very early so I walked round the village, to the main road.

I wrote that last April now it's October. I've done more early morning walks and a few naked photos in public places, including riding in a hotel lift (elevator). I mow the lawn nude and have dug a grave for a friend's pet dog (very sad). One of the oddest things was to help fell a 20foot high flower spike - on that occasion I was the only one naked.

I'd do what I do now. Garden nude. Spend the night in the pub nude. Go to the club nude. Go to a show in our village hall nude. Do the shopping nude (I can do the whole town in an hour). Hold nude committee meetings. Help out at the local visitor attraction nude. Drive down to my daughters nude (I do that now). And on bofire night, make a bonfire of all those unwanted clothes - after all even the charity shops would not want them.

As I said somewhere else - I'm a nude who is naked as much as possible. "Naked" has that simple rawness, no hint of a cover-up. Eithr way I wouldn't use the term "Naturist". That is very prissy.

There may be just as many women as men who are nudists. But on a nudist website, who is more likely to want to oggle the opposite sex? Also men are more exhibitionists. Having said that I find I attract more gay men than streight women. I wonder why.

I've tryed both. I shaved everything form the neck down and enjoyed the smooth sensual feeling. It was cold, though. I found it hard to maintain, needing to shave more than once a day to avoid the sandpaper feel. So I gave up. I quite like being furry. But if someone asked me to - just for them - I might shave it all off again. I like the look of smooth and hairy nudists, each for their own. I say "nudists" because shaving isn't natural so a smoothy couldn't be a true "naturist" - just a thought.

I prefere "Nudist". It is simple, strait and to the point. Isn't "naturist" dressing it up a bit. Yes being but naked is truly natural and it's good to be out in the countryside, feeling the sun and the breeze, the grass and the undergrowth brushing our naked bodies. But in a UK winter there is little chance without goospimples. So we are naked indoors - Nudists
