Absolute Naturists arrow Obsessed?

Armadillo

I am sometimes obsessed with being nude, but that is diminishing over time.
For example, I shun shoes because I want to be as nude as possible, even if I risk foot injury. Burned my feet at Cypress Cove on a summer day. Now I grudgingly wear minimalist sandals when the asphalt is too hot. My feet have become very tough.

The country would be a better place. Even textiles would benefit. It would counter the mass-media ideal of what we should look like, and stop the idea that nudity=sex.
And I would go nude almost everywhere.

My only reason for visiting a resort was to find a safe place to hike nude. I enjoy nude hiking in public parks but never felt safe and worried about park rangers.
I thought all nudist places would have a nature trail, it seemed natural to me. Now I know most do not have nature trails.
At the first resort I went to I was able to walk around the residential area. I eventually found a resort that has a nature trail and have been a regular there ever since.
Now I also enjoy other aspects of nudism, such as socializing, pool, hot tub, sports, etc.

( Moderator Nudies1962 replies) OLT my home club has something like 17 miles or crisscross trails on about 400 acres. I love the safety aspect of your reason. So very true!

I for one get tired of hiding myself behind resort walls or in my home.
Living life nude, including in public, is a fantasy of mine. Why is it wrong to walk down the sidewalk nude? Why should I need clothes to shop at WalMart? Has nothing to do with being noticed.
If anyones nudist credibility is to be questioned, I would question those that are ok with hiding.

I do artistic nude photography as a hobby (also landscapes, etc).
Like any art, it is about whatever the artist is trying to convey. Artistic nudes are usually not about sex or being provocative. It can be about natural shape and form (clothes distract from the natural human form), it can tell a story, or just be cool.
Here is one of my favorites-

The general idea behind life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness is that we are supposed to be free to pursue those things as long as they do not infringe on another's life or liberty.
Thus, you can not kill because you are violating another's right to life. You can not steal because you are violating anothers liberty.
Being nude does not violate anyone elses rights or harm anyone else.
No one has a right to force you go wear something. They only have rights to themselves, not you.
Our founding fathers were very Libertarian by today's standards. People today don't realize how unfree they are.
Absolute Naturists arrow Are Nudist's Really Free Spirits?

Armadillo

The resort I go to used to be a fun and free place "back in the day". As they have aged now they have what I call a culture of complaining. People mind each others business and complain about everything. If a group is doing something fun, like dancing, all it takes is one complaint to shut it down.
So activities consist of quiet things that appeal to the elderly.
Young people? Sorry, no fun allowed.
The residents are nudists but definitely not free spirits.

Rustic, with cabins, a decent restaurant, bar, pool, hot tub, sauna, sports, lake. Lots of nature trails.

Smokey, the Bill of Rights is not an exclusive list of our only rights. James Madison was against a Bill of Rights, he felt it was unnecessary because the inalienable rights were obvious and the government limited. Some people might think those were the only rights we had. They are not.
True, nudity is not in the BoR. Neither is eating, bathing, or nose picking. Those things are not privileges, they are rights. They are inalienable rights.
Your body belongs to YOU, not any government. YOU choose what to eat, when to sleep, when to bathe. YOU choose what to wear or not wear.

As for what the courts say, courts once upheld slavery and discrimination. Courts are wrong sometimes. Laws are wrong sometimes.
If a law is made against an inalienable right, the law is wrong. The right always exists- it is inalienable.
If you want tyranny, passively accept every government usurpation of your rights.
If you want freedom, peacefully work to repeal laws which violate your rights.
It's your choice.
Nudist Individuals arrow Nudity as a "right".

Smokey, you are comparing nudity to yelling fire in a theater? Do you view nudity as something hazardous or dangerous to others?
Falsely yelling fire in a theater is a hazard to life and property. People can die in the resulting rush for the exit.

No one has ever been harmed by seeing anothers naked body (despite the dramatic exaggerated claims of textiles). Laws against nudity are victimless crime laws, and would be regarded as anathema by our founding fathers.
The current gymnophobia of society is a relatively new thing. There were few if any laws against public nudity at one time.
Our founding documents are clear that rights come from God, not government and not any court. Nudity is an inalienable right. Your body belongs to YOU not the government.
When the government passes laws that trample your inalienable rights it is your duty as a citizen to peacefully fight against that law.

If you want young people to accept YOU, you must accept THEM as well. You were young once, remember? Maybe not.
And getting older does NOT mean loosing athleticism. That attitude is one reason why we have an obesity problem.
Is nudism a healthy lifestyle? Prove it! Get healthy, make the stereotype wrong.
And yes I get picked on for being skinny MORE than obese people at my resort. It is verboten to talk badly of obesity but perfectly acceptable to do so about skinny. Makes me self-consious sometimes. Cant blame young/skinny/atheletic people for leaving when they are made to feel uncomfortable.

FP. The obesity rate is about 37%. Look around your nudist park sometime, I bet you'll find it around 50%.
Again, we can be tolerent and accepting. I treat everyone by who they are not by what they look like. But that does not change the reality.
Heck I get picked on for being skinny. If nudism is a healthy lifestyle, lots of people didnt get the memo or dont have enough self-worth to treat their bodies better.
As for being "put off by looking at granma naked", I was refering to young textiles. Like it or not it's a textile world. They make the rules.
Want to attract new nudists or a younger crowd?
Good luck with that.
People like to hang out with their generation, and who have things in common with. Will a 22 year old athletic new nudist feel comfortable in a sea of elderly lethergy? Or might they think "the stereotype is true" and move on?

While I was walking the trail they saw me and I saw them working. On my return trip I found some of the workers on the trail looking at the flora.
