I think that everyone should have just 2 pictures...the primary would of course be clothed...the secondary would be from the shoulders up only...that would allow us to make sure that they were nudists...and if they did not participate in at one thread a month they should be booted...ooohhh and if their profile was not up dated quarterly then they should be gone as well...and as for any language which might be construed by anyone at all as having a modicrum of sexual ennuendo they would be history especially if they are men...and only women should be able to request friends...you know guys have only one thing on their minds when they make a friends request to a woman...and should a guy make a friends request to a woman he should be reported immediately and booted...ooohhh and if your not blonde haired and blue eyed and exactly 6 feet tall then your history as well...sometimes you guys are amazing...do you really think that women are so simple minded that they book mark crotch shots and hussel back to them as soon as they come on...how insulting to the women on the site...but heyyyy lets make up some more guidelines on who can and can not be on the site because as we all know there are NOT nearly enough guidelines yet to prove that a person is pure of heart and pure of mind.. |

Women appear to have body issues regardless of whether it is in the textile world or whether it is in the nudist world. One of the pieces of advice that my wife always told our daughters was..."NEVER read beauty magazines ,they are designed to make women feel insecure about themselves"...and I think this is especially true in the States...everywhere a woman turns now a days she is faced with body issue advertisements so no wonder they feel insecure about their bodies... |

Marc you are correct about Cap d'agde...when I was there two summers ago now there were something like 25,000 folks there...what I do like about France is that they do have "areas" designated and that is great...as for Germany they have parks and clubs and beaches and nudity does not pose a public problem...the last time I was in Barcelonia the beaches had nude areas as well as other designated nude areas...but that has been a couple of years ago so I am not sure what the law is today...but to answer the question...Americans seem to be realllllllly hung up on nudity...back to what I once mentioned in another thread...Americans have no problem mutilating the human body on screen...nope everyone run to the movies and see the human body slashed, burned , run over,sawed, shot,blown up and on and on...but OOOOOO nellie don't you dare show anything positive/nude on that screen or in person...you instantly turn into a pervert...incredible... |

Gymnostim...here is my problem...I am NOT against children at all...however and this will certainly show my age I am sure...growing up there actually were places where children were NOT allowed...my parents actually went places without my sisters and myself...in todays world..both textiled and nudist ...children are everywhere...you can not get away from them... There is no reason what so ever that a nude resort can not offer their facilities to adults AND to children...but that DOES NOT mean that I have to attend that particular resort...and if the resort I DO go to decides to change their policy and allow children then I too can change my policy and go somewhere else...unlike soo many others in our society I DO NOT desire to change any business to conform to what I WANT... I will simply go some place else...that is my choice... I enjoy imported cigars...the bar I used to visit decided to ban smoking...I understood that very well...that was the owners decision...I simply went to another bar that allowed smoking...the owner of the bar that I left called me one day and wanted to know where I had been ( I had been a long time patron) .. I told him that he had made a decision...I made a decision simple as that.. I am NOT againt children some of my best friends have them...lol...but like C-O said..I have had mine...raised mine and now given the CHOICE I prefer to be around adults and not children.., No hostility involved at all |

I know I chat alot about Europe ...but.. in Europe especially in France....they actually have rules and THERE ARE places that children are NOT allowed...I know that comes as a shock to many many Americans who think children should be allowed to go with them anywhere they go but it is such a nice respite from here in the States... I agree with C-O ...had mine..raised them..and unlike todays parents I actually had rules they had to abide by and did not let them run rough shod over other people's space.. So the very infrequent times that I go to a resort I make sure that it is adult only... |

Hollywood Hypocrites James Mattera Cain at Gettysburg Ralph Peters Kill shot Vince Flynn Hunger Games the trilogy Susan Collins Fifty Shades of Grey E L James pretty wide range...I really enjoyed them all as long as you keep them in their genre...but I am a huge Vince Flynn fan and Ralph Peters has always been great to read from a historical perspective...Rick |

In the United States (and maybe it is because Europe has had a longer period of time to work things out) NECESSITY is the plea for every single infrigment on individual liberty.. just let that soak in for a minute can you think of a law passsed taking away a freedom that HAS NOT been classified a NECESSITY... a child is injured riding a bicycle...some parent immediately calls for the NECESSITY (there by law) for EVERYONE child and EVERYONE adult to wear a helmet when riding a bicycle... you immediately no longer have the abilty to chose for yourselves... smoking is another Necessity (generally prefaced by the words..."I myself do not care who smokes..but it is for our children ... another freedom lost...seat belts are another to "protect the children"...and again another freedom lost...restaurants and bars are ridiculed because they will not allow children...in America Tyrannts have learned over the years that the words.."for the safety of our children" will take away any freedom that they want to take away and Americans just stand around and let it happen...and so it is with Nudism in American...for the safety of OUR CHILDREN we simply have to pigeon hole nudism...I just love the words.."This is an appropriate place for nudism"...lmao... When I vacationed last summer at Cap D'Adge everyone was nude as per the law of the city...it was absolutely great...it would be nice it nudity were a choice in our society...sort of like what clothes your going to wear today...mmm should I go to work nude or wear clothes...if that was the case I would always be nude and it would NOT bother me if everyone else was clothed... |

you might be interested to know that each year the World Bodypainting folks hold a festival. This year it will be Austria in 2012. At the end of the festival which is a huge competition actually...they put together a catalogue and a DVD of the contestants and the winners...the participants get it for free but anyone can buy one...last years catalogue sold for 4 pounds I think it was...anyway they have a web site and I just thought you might be interested...there is truely real talent in bodypainting out there...Rick |

Hi SB..How are you???Well I hope.This is one of your most favorite folks...I am writing to apologize for all of us who are "riding on your coat tails and dragging you down".. I just finished reading your wonderfully myopic post on the parade concept. But maybe I simply do not understand... If I read your post correctly I am suppose to give up years and years of school , internships ,county,state and national licenses to prove publicly to some unknown person that I am a nudist; other wise I am...let me get this quote correct..."a so-called nudist hanging on your coat tails and dragging you down"... WOW !!! That is literally a breath taking piece of written text... I don't mean this mean spiritedly at all SB but sometimes I do wonder if we live in the same world. There are people who enjoy nudism that have incredibly productive jobs in this country who would immediately be ostrasized and stripped of their means of income if people found out that they were nudists. One of my best friends (who is a nudist) her daughter carries very high level security clearence...sooo my friend should (according to what you write) go running out and join a nude parade to prove to some one that she is a nudist and endanger her daughters job that took years of study and training other wise "she is dragging you down"... I guess then there are alot of us out here in the real world that will be a "drag on your coat tails"... we apologize... Rick |

One of the best times was the summer of 2008...several of us nudist families got together and leased a sail boat down in the Florida Keys..once away from the dock we spent ten days sailing nude though out the Keys...scuba for megladon sharks teeth ,snorkling the reefs, fishing and just generally haveing a great time...never put clothes back on until we were within sight of the dock again ten days later... |

One of the really nice things about vacationing at Cap D'Agde was not worrying about clothes or being hasseled about NOT having them on. Being able to go shopping or visiting friends in the hotels or condos or just going to and from the beach nude was terrific. It really would be wonderful to have that option on a daily basis in the U.S. whethee you used that option or not. |

One of the nice things about living 100 yards from the Gulf of Mexico is that in the summer and early fall the Gulf heats up to 85 degrees or more ... so there is little need for hot tubs...and no worries about germs..I can relax and just sit nude and let the waves work on my muscles...I can swim nude or I can sail , kayak or scuba nude...love the hot Gulf... |

This past summer when I was at Cap D'Agde the beach was truely partroled very very heavily by the police looking for folks with cameras...the problem as I mentioned earlier in this thread is that cameras now come in all shapes and sizes...I talked to several of the policemen and women on the beach there and they agreed that there is just no way to completely stop pictures from being taken... there are people who are going to take pixs...some for personal use...some for putting up on the web..unless you personally have un limited amount of monies to litigate and a huge amount of time to troll the net to find pixs of you ...or your wife or girl friend and your kids there really is very little anyone can do.. |

If a person does NOT want to feel "pawed" over on NCH (male or female)..then simply place a face picture on their profile site and a note mentioning that..."I MAKE MY OWN FRIENDS REQUEST" that way any person will not feel like they are part of a hareem or group...it is a simple resolution...no one would qwak at any pictures and the person would could pick who "THEY" wanted for friends..other wise..just like in the textile world people (especially women) will be mentally "pawed" over and hit on... |

In response to your comments on Title Vll...I have a good friend....most people in todays world have forgotton him..most youngesters have never even been taught about him...his name is Henry David Thoreau...he wrote a discourse called Civil Disobedience... in this discourse he wrote.. Laws have never made man a whit more just...this applies to Title7 as much as anyother law.. Looking back over the time this law has been in place stats show that it has only caused more separation between men and women in the work place..it has NOT brought them together... There will never be "equality" in the work place because we all make different choices...men stay in the work place longer than woemn do..women want to be close to the family while men tend to travel...men take on dangerous jobs ..women tend to opt for consistancy... Even in the same gender work force there is no equity SB..female prosecutors don't make the same as female defense attorneys...nurses don't make the same...surgical nurse make more than pediatric nurses or floor nurses... Discrimination will always be the case...my own twin girls have been discriminated against since birth...blonde hair..green eyes..tall..their moms european olive skin...high school was just short of hell...and most of it came from women...when it came time for college they were discriminated against because they were from middle class and white...criminey even in todays work place they are discriminated against because they have double masters and PhD's...one lands F16 on the tossing decks of the USS Ronald Regan in the middle of the night while its raining...the other creates RCD's that fly half way around the world to destroy things.. There is no "magic" place in the world where discrimination does not exist...you can not pass enough laws to create equality because equality can not exist... |

I have tried NOT to respond to SB...really I have...I read her thread and then told myself I WOULD NOT respond ...but I just can not help it... so I will post this on Saturday when no one is around to read it... 1) In the world I live in men and women are wired completely differrently...Mother Nature did this ... and it applies to the textile world as much as it does to the nudist world... 2) From 30 minutes after we guys are born breasts are shoved quite literally in our faces...day after day...month after month...now in your world SB that might not be the case and if that is so then you live in a wonderful place...for the rest of the world that is just not so... 3) You can hardly pick up a magazine in todays world and NOT find dozens and dozens of ads with large breasted women selling everything from OMG!!! bras with breasts in them to hamburgers... Men are innudated with breasts constantly... And ooo by the way SB the number 2 most requested Plastic Surgery proceedure by women is ...wait for it..oooo nooo...it can't be...NOT BREAST implants...and do you know the number 1 and number 2 responses heard when the woman is asked why she wants implants??? My boyfriend and or husband wants a larger size ...that is number one...the number two??? I want my clothes to fit better...yeah of course you do...and how do I know this??? part of my work revolves around the field of plastic surgery... Women sexualized breast just as much if not more than men do ... sooo all this garbage about male sexualization is just that...garbage.. I love runners....lets see...let me pound my hip joints into oblivion because I don't change running shoes every 400 miles and OOOHH!! of course I love destroying my knees and ankles while building up an incredible amount of toxins in my muscle fibers which I never get a massage to eliminate so that I get trigger points and knots in my muscles...never understood why people would rather run than swim...swimming is better aerobics burns more calories per mile and is joint friendly.. |

I think its a matter of choice. If the staff feels more comfortable greeting people nude then fine. If not then that is fine as well as long as the staff is comfortable around nudist. Having said that , I DO feel that if the staff leaves the office building and is out on the grounds for prolonged periods of time for whatever reason then they too should be nude. Walking or riding in a golf cart around the grounds for prolonged periods of time clothed I DO NOT agree with. |

I sincerely doubt that social nudity will ever become legal. However , even if it did , I doubt that it would become prolific...far too many people are just not comfortable and or secure with their own bodies for that to happen..but...it would be nice to at least have a choice of clothes or no clothes when going out... |

I can tell you from exploring the possibilities with some friends that in todays world the EPA of the Federal Government rules with an iron fist..if your building a building or developing land you have an incredible amount of paper work to fill out just for the EPA who will study the project and then have you do an impact study of the environement and then propose offsets to any and all impacts that you "might" be causing...the days of just buying land and developing that land are pretty much gone...the wonderful EPA will tell you if you can or can not develope it...and ooo by the way??? any small creatures that they can claim for the endangered species list they will halt the project while YOU dish out the cash for the environmental study on the creatures...and any stagnant water or wet spots or byou they can claim as marsh land they will do that as well... recently in North Carolina a good friend of mine wanted to expand his law firm and that entailed buying land and building a new building...the EPA impact study and the items they had to do as off sets for the environment in order to build the building literally cost more than the building itself... might have better luck to just buy an island... |

I have been to several...Unforunately not here in the States..they are wonderful..especially for nudist traveling...you can actually function openly as a nudist and not just be nude in your room and then have to dress to out of your room and get a bite to eat...come back to your room and get undressed AGAIN..the people who have the CO B&B's seem to always be happy to see you whether you are traveling single or with someone...CO B&B's just seem to be more cordial and personal whether your staying over the weekend or staying a week... |

Absolutely they should have that right..society twists itself into incredible pretzel knots to keep it from happening...ie..a woman walks out on the beach with a top on that barely covers anything at all and society has no problem..you open a magazine and what do you see...ad after ad for bras..and each and everyone is very visual..an actress appears on the Red Carpet that barely covers her breasts...women breast feed on trains , planes, restaurants..movie after movie have women in increasing less and less clothing especially in terms of the breasts... but OMG!!! she bares the entire breast in public and suddenly its pornographic...she goes from being a woman to being some sort of unimaginable female...but boy do they run to their computers and the porn sites...Americans have such a problem with nudity...thank goodness the rest of the world does not seem to have the problem any longer... |

Social Nudity in other parts of the world does not resemble social nudity in the States..for example..Germany has many parks that are clothing optional... almost anytime of the day in the summer of course you will find nudist laying in the sun on towels or blankets while textiled people walk by...no one is upset by it at all...its part of life... Cap D'Adge in the south of France(loved it there) is the only complete city (hotels,condos,stores ,restaurants etc.)in the world where you are required by law to be nude 24/7... famlies ,singles,gays all visit during the season and mix and mingle... there are usually about 25,000 nudist at any given time there during the season...Italy of course is famous for its topless beaches... Hedi Klum talked about the topless beaches she goes to there in Italy several weeks ago on Jay Leno...she was a hoot when she told Jay that she had more bikini bottoms than she had tops..I thought poor Jay was going to fall out off his chair... oohhh and speedo's are not appaling beach wear that they seem to be in the states either... while I have not been to Croatia I have been to the Greek Islands and the nude beaches and they are gorgeous... and again singles,gays,families are all represented as well as topless and textiled folks mingling...nudity is just NOT the abhorent life style in Europe as it seems to be to sooo many here in the states...I have not been to Australia yet but am planning on going..oo forgot Barcelonia Spain...another wonderful place... |

Having been raised in a nudist household , the youngest of four kids , I had three oldeer sisters, I think it is easier for people raised as nudist to move to the textile world than it is for those kids raised in a textiled world to move to a nudist world...probably because I am prejudice having been raised as a nudist, but textiled people seem more inhibited and uncomfortable with their bodies than those raised in a nudist environment...I didn't wear clothes until I started kindergarten then found textiles incredibly confining ... A portion of my practice deals with sports and therapeutic massage. It is interesting that in Europe where I have licences to practice as well , people have a choice to be draped or not to be draped and by in large most people prefer not to be draped...even in Hawaii if you recieve a Lomi massage draping is usually very very minimal or non existent..however in the contiguous United States , most states mandate that draping will occur giving the client no choice what so ever...unless you are working in a private home then the laws stop at the front door in most states... |

I think the problem is mobility...the younger generation with their electronic tablets and smart phones can put together a fun afternoon in a heart beat...or they can be someplace where some group is having fun , someone simply puts out a Tweet and zip 50 ,100 of their electronic friends show up ...they have a great time and wooosh...gone on to some place else ...airlines can put you in one place or another in a heart beat... the resorts (clubs) are not built for such quick change ... how does schuffle board by a pool compete with volley ball on a sunny beach by the ocean ... unless the resort owners have some young nudist helping them and they are tied in with other young nudist and their electronic friends the clubs can not compete ... while I CAN see possibly some of the older generation wandering over to see what is going on with the younger folks I just CAN NOT see the younger generation wanting to learn about shuffle board...and the problem is ...technology is getting smarter and faster at a very very fast rate...with the new i phone and the second generation andriod phones both of which have face to face technology all one person has to do is call a friend some place and ask what is going on there...that person holds up the phone , scans the perimeter and the person on the other end can decide instantly whether they want to be there or not...resorts are about days...technology is about hours...really tough to compete in the modern technology world and I am not so sure that alot of the resorts and clubs even want to try...3 or 4 randomly placed 52 inch flat screen ,3D , satalite T.V.'s so that the younger generation can watch soccer or follow an Iron Man Triathalon in Hawaii or see what is going on with the Volvo around the world sailing races...wifi availability, cell phone towers accessiblity....that is just the beginning ..I don't mean to be gloomy by any stretch of the imagination but I DO know that just in my small world of business , technology wise there is nothing small... you either stay with technology( smart phones , tablets, you Tweet , your on Face Book ,and your LinkedIn page is tied to all of it) or you get left behind and eventually fade away...and the reason you do all of this is because that is where the younger generation is... sooo just maybe we are at the horse and buggy versus the new horseless carriage stage ... |

I don't think that the nudist lifestyle will disappear at all... the impression I got from the article is NOT that the lifestyle is getting smaller but that organizations like AANR are stoggy and antiquated organizations...the younger generation , which I see in my travels alot are a growing , vibarant , open group , they simply do not need AANR to validate them as nudists...they meet other nudists , form friendships and groups they network with eachother...technology allows them to stay in touch with their fellow nudists...they are their own censors regarding likes and dislikes...they are generally monied and somewhat well traveled...the life style is NOT losing at all...AANR is.... |

Beware of Small States is very heavy lifting but when you finish it there is a sense of accomplishment and of having taken in alot of knowledge...I kept hoping it would come out in audio but never found at the time I was reading it.. Lets see I'm hostle ,I have issues... I talk in absolutes..well then lets take what I said apart piece by piece... First I made the comment concerning the discussion by these women in the video of doing away with an entire gender...makeing them none essential...I mentioned that invitro fertilization can work both ways...every day invitro takes places in our world...sooo one gender could actually do away with another gender...but here is one of the things I find absolutely amazing and I purposely did not make this obsevation because I wanted to see if anyone else would make it whether they were male or female...you have in this video a group of people talking about makeing another group of people exstinct...holy smokes folks did we not learn anything from the 2nd world war... how could any group want that..and the second part of the observation is that you never ever hear males talking about how wonderful it would be to have no females living in the world...not even gay males talk like this...but invariably you have groups of females that constantly bring this up...its amazing to me that people here are comfortable with that kind of conversation ******* The second theme of the video was EQUALITY...if women were just equal with men the world would be a better place...but there is not even equality among the female gender...are you telling me that these women are equal to say Margaret Thatcher first female Prime Minister of England...or maybe they are the same as Meg Whitman creator and CEO of E Bay...or lets see...Conde Rice first female Scretary of State...as long as thered are dominate personalities in either gender there will not be Equality...but there is one place where there is real equality among men and women...the work place...but lets not take my word for it...no no no...in fact lets not take those evil American coporations word for it or any recent study put out here in America concerning work place equality ...nope...lets use the most recent study put out in March of 2011 by Dr.Catherine Hakim whose 12,000 word study for the London School of Economics constantly referred to the reports about how women were not equal in the work place as "feminist based myth"... it is a facinating report that someone might want to actually read... MMMM...who am I??? well I am fortunate since I was born into a nudist family to start out with...I didn"t have far to travel to become a nudist....LOL... I married a terrific nudist....unfortunately cancer won...sooo I went from single nudist to married nudist to single "predatory" nudist...LOL I think all single males entering a resort should have a small sound system on their shoulders playing the Jaws theme song...don don don don...LOL..sorry..morbid sense of humor sometimes...anyway...I DO travel a great deal..Europe especially...the reason being that the issues here among nudist , that are soo prevalent , are almost none existent there... I am always amazed when nudist tell me that I do not understand this or that but they themselves can not either express their own thoughts or even more importantly they can not articulate calmly a defense of their thoughts...ie resorts and single men... Why am I here??? To talk openly and listen to people about nudism...and to meet interesting folks as well..both of which I have been very fortunate to have done...it would be nice to expand that field.. |

So here is an idea that Iam sure is NOT a new idea for here and even possibly has been tried before... We have a chat room so why doesn't this group sponser an evening seminar in the chat room...we can select a TOPIC to be discussed and that is the only TOPIC that will be discussed...we can set up a TOPIC BOARD where other TOPICS can be posted to be discussed...Once a week or once a month at a specified time agreed upon we can all pile into the chat room...appoint a moderator like Olivia or SunBunny ( I would prefer a feamle but that would be up to them) and lets actually discuss some real issues...maybe we can post a notice in all the other group rooms and invite one and all..male and female to come and participate...what does anyone think??? good idea?? bad idea??? feed back please |

Here is a point that as a single male I DO NOT understand and hope that someone can shed some light on...if resorts (and they say this all the time) want to maintain a "balance of singles to married , and the resorts feel that single males are somehow predatory creatures stalking the married and the single females at the resorts , how come the married women at the resorts are not upset at all the single females that are there..are females considered less predatory in nature or perhaps are married women more secure in their relationships with their husbands than the husbands are with their wives??? This movie single handedly chganged Americas vacation plans for the summer and still today standing in the ocean you can hum the theme music and see panic in peoples faces as they look around the water... Casablanca of course The Indiana Jones series because these movies single handedly sent hundreds and hundreds of kids into archeology.. In my head all I see are individual groups meeting...Each group preaching to the choir so to speak and each group leaving the seminar still in the total darkness as to what the other group thinks and why..I believe that at some point in the seminar if we do not all get together and talk openly to eachother we might as well issue a "white paper" on each groups discussions and go home... We have here bunches of individual groups. The weekend seminars should be all coed. Make no distinction between singles and married. And by the way ... seating at the coed seminars should NOT be marrieds in one group of chairs..single women in another group of chairs and single men in a third group...we are all adults (supposedly) so male , female , male , female should not be a problem for anyone...I am sure that a married sitting next to a single would not be toxic for either...lol TOPICS FOR SEMINAR 1) Resort owners explain who the single women they allow into their resort are suppose to associate with since they generally DO NOT allow single men into the resort. 2) Women and what they want out of nudism 3) Men and what they want out of nudism. 4) Nudism vs Sexuality and how do we change the image. 5) How nudist can become more of a financial powerhouse. 6) How to attract more people to nudism. In the textiled world , especially in the work place , there are rules of behavior ... while they do not discreminate against a person entering the work place , the rules DO provide guidlines for persons participating in the work place ... you follow those rules then you get to participate in the work place...you do not follow those rules then your tossed out of that work place...sooo why can't the same concept apply to a nudist resort...welcome all...here are the guidleines you must follow whether you are male or female...stay within the guidlines and you get to stay and be a part of the resort...if you don't then your out...seems easy to me... And alas as far as "looking" is concerned...gheeezzz I'm guilty ... I look at people all the time whether they are textiled or nude , male or female ...whether I am at a mall or a nude beach ...I just find the human body absolutely an amazingly beautiful creation ...sooo label me whatever ... |

I'm fortunate in that at least 50% of my work I can do here at home. So I can work nude. The only thing I have to remember is to put on a shirt before turning on my cam to chat with a patient or a client...LOL.. While it would be absolutely terrific to work in a clothing optional work place out in the Textiled world I DO agree with Gymnostim it would be an HR nightmare. Having said that , if there is someone who wants to risk their monies and their business model and the sucess of their business on advertising a clothing optional work place I say more power to that person. However , in the meantime I will just have to work nude here at home with my sign over my cam with the word SHIRT on it to remind me I am nude... |

I think the problem IS that we are individuals...in a world where acceptability in society depends on economics ... nudists are simply individuals...nudist and nudism needs to become a far larger economic force ... the greater economic force nudist become the more acceptable in society nudist will become...I think as long as society can keep nudist as individuals and not an economically viable group nudist will remain a footnote...projects like the nude hiking trail in Germany , parks in Europe where nudist and textiled people mix and mingle together , large vacation nude resort cities like Cap A'gde where people can see large groups of nudist gathering together to relax and enjoy themselves I think will make nudism more acceptable to the over all population...and we need to engage a younger population to become involved in nudism ... just some thoughts... |

I love the club phrase.."Why yes we have a list for our men who are single..may we put you on that list??? ... I actually used to believe that...after my wife passed and I began getting back into my life I was struck by the fact that soo many clubs had such a barrier against single males...I had never realized that before... suddenly I had gone from a resonable, rational, nudist to "predator" nudist...why I only wanted to be in the club to stalk females either single or married made no difference and the women MUST be protected...as though as Olivia mentioned the women could not take care of themselves...and the even more hypocritical part of this is that single or un attached women ARE welcome .. to me this sends a signal to the women that men are perfectly able to protect themsleves against single or un attached females... it is just the women who can not protect themselves against single men...what a farce...I hike/camp..scuba dive , kayak with friends who are married or single all the time here in Texas and am never considered a predator...just when I want to go to a nudist club does my status suddely change and I am considered a potential predator... No wonder I enjoy traveling in Europe where nudism is far more accepted regardless of gender or marital status... |

I don't see it as being complacent. I'll use me as an example. I have spent an enormous amount of monies in my education to arrive at my level of expertise. Many of my licenses are approved by the state and or licensing boards. Any indication of what either the state or the Licensing Boards feel is inappropriate behavior and my licenses are history and I can no longer legally practice. So while I am very much in favor of nudist to be treated equally in American society , I have to be cautious and protective of my licenses and business for my livelyhood.I know it is a vicious circle and probably counter productive for me as a nudist but at this point in my life it is the best that I can do. It is why I enjoy traveling over seas so much because their attitude toward nudism is much much more tolerant. I think there are alot of other nudist that are in the same situation in their particular jobs. |

I always enjoy traveling in Europe because there are soo many places where textiled folks and nudist intermingle and no one gets upset...I mentioned before my visit to a park in Germany where all day long folks tossed blankets or towels on teh ground and stripped down to enjoy the sun shine while other textiled folks strolled thru the park as well...there just was not this "big dealism" that happens unfortunately in the states...it was actually an exhilerating feeling at first when I stepped out of my clothes and looked around to see textiled folks just walking around... |

It is interesting (and I am sure I have not seen everyone one of the old Naturist Magazines and other older nudist material)that in the older material and photos you DO NOT see...how shall I say..RUBENESQUE(?) people...they all seem slim and fit... if Body Acceptance is part of the nudist mantra then just like with Freedom of Speech you have to take the good with the bad.. To Barefreedoms questions...probablby about 35 or 40 folks Bare...it was during What we would call "LUNCH TIME" so folks were coming and going...but no one seemed to have a problem with tossing a towel on the grass and stripping down to enjoy the sunshine as textiled folks walked by.. Along Fireproofs line...I live on the Gulf Coast actually about a footballs field length from the Gulf..because of this our houses are 15 feet off the ground on concrete pillars so we are always looking down...for a long time I was the only house on a shelled lined road ... I work at home so I work nude and often go down to the lower floor to work in my wood shop nude there as well...I keep the windows open all the time due to the glues and solvents that I use.. 2 years ago a couple bought the lot 2 lots down and built their house..I really never gave it much thought since they were summer time folks and not here most of the year and as I said I figured they were too far away to see anything anyway so I continued to work in the shop nude.. One afternoon while I was in the shop there was a knock on the door...since I have a sign posted on the door NUDIST LIVES HERE I never bother reaching for sweats I just answer the door... Well my neighbor was there...she smiled and said she hated to bother me but she wanted to ask if I would NOT work in the nude in the wood shop for the next week ...it truely caught me by surprise...she went on to say that she had no problem with my nudity at all however her grandchildren were coming to visit for the week... I told her that I understood and that it would NOT be a problem...up to that point as I have said I really never had thought they could even see me from that far away... she followed by asking me if I could repair a set of bunk beds she had bought from a second hand store for her grandcildren to sleep on...I told her that I absolutely could and have since have helped them with several cabinet and doors etc. repairs around their home as it settles in from the intial build out..I think most folks are of the attitude of live and let live as long as the person is responsible with their way of life... there will always be busy bodies in this world that want to run everyone elses business to their own standards...she and her husband and I have become good friends and I am happy to look after their home while they are not there during the winter.. |

I was traveling in Germany and was in Berlin. I had heard that the public park Tiergarten was a park open to everyone including nudist. It was an interesting experience to NOT be segregated from the general population because you are a nudist. The Germans are very relaxed in their attitude concerning nudism. There are commonalitites to both which makes it very tough to define that point at which one is simply a resort and then transitions into a community. One of those points I think is permanent retail on a large basis that encumbers multiple shops , restaurants , multiple long time residency , Hotels , motels . When you go to Cap A'dge it is as much a city as any textiled city you can think of. There were approximately 30,000 nudist there. It is a fully functioning city with police and all. While resorts have potions of retail , I think it is their size that determines resort versus community combiened with population. |

As I have mentioned before in several posts I vacationed in Cap D'Agde last year. This is the only city in the world that I know of , that REQUIRES you to be nude 24/7. Just a hat , a towel and your crocs or sandals. It makes no difference if you are at the beach , shopping or anyother place in the city. 30,000 other folks at the beach or shopping etc. all nude.It was an amazing experience. It really is too bad that there is not something like that in the U.S. |

During the summer of my college years I worked as a merchandiser setting up new products advertising in Big Box stores like Best Buy or Wal-Mart etc. Anyway.. we had a guy quite in the middle of a project in Miami , I was free at teh time so I got the job to finish up. Basically I finished the job the evening I got there which left me free for the entire next day. Well having heard about Haulover beach I slipped my crocs on , grabbed my towels and sun screen and headed there. Found ,myself a spot , spread out my stuff and decided to walk along while I put on my sun screen and see the sights.. I appraoched two ladies from behind and not wanting to scare them I said excuse me as I walked passed them. As they turned around there was my boss and her daughter. I knew I was history right then and there. I couldn't help but just laugh. By the time I got home from Miami the next day I had an e-mail thanking me for the job I had done ,commending me on my throughness and saying that she would be in touch with me for the next job. I never heard from her again.. |

AANR on line is a great resource area to start...this gives anyone male or female a private well informed place to learn about nudism..many resorts are another terrific resource for a woman to find information and some even have programs for those interested in becoming nudist..many nude beaches are also clothing optional beaches and a wonderful place for a woman to sort of dip her toe into the world of nudism by simply going topless..last but not least many "landed" clubs have information or people that a woman can contact and talk to about nudism..Rick |

I think they both get a different response when you are talking to people...I am not sure exactly why but I have noticed that when you are talking to textiled people especially they seem to react to the two terms differently..nekkid seems to get a less emotional response than does nude for some reason...to me the two simply means no clothes and freedom...lol |

I think that is the case in America..not necessarily in Europe and South America...I think American women feel alot more self conscious about their bodies than both European and South American women ... traveling as much as I do in both Europe and South America women in both areas are far more relaxed about their bodies than Americans even on the textiled beaches of both areas.. And as far as men in general being jerks when it comes to nudism ... you have men who are jerks in the textile world as well... again you can see that in offices and pools and beaches everywhere.. there are always jerks in every group of people and unfortunately most are males.. which I might point out as a bye and bye were all raised by mothers...just a thought there..Rick |

In Texas where I am a massage therapist the law basically says..gender specific areas must be covered ... the state prefers sheets...my problem is that simply due to location my clientel over the years has become international... and not everyone is happy with Texas laws both male or female...soo if they want a massage without the sheet they simply sign a form stating that I have explained the law to them and they are requesting a nude massage with no sexual intent involved..they sign and date it...I sign and date it and away we go...and for those who live around my clinic many simply pay an up charge fee and I go to their home ...Texas law stops at the door step period...having had the good fortune of working all around the world it is amazing to me how the rest of the world is far less inhibited than the good ole USA...Rick |

I have a 42 foot morgan sail boat that I dearly love sailing...however several summers ago I bought myself an 18 foot catamaran just for me to sail close in around the shore...I live on the Gulf of Mexico...I could wait to take it out and the following day was overcast , cloudy but the wind was great...sooo off I went...once out on the water I decided to ditch the swim suit and do a bit of nude sailing..I put on some sunscreen thinking it was enough since it was a cloudy day and I was not going to be out on the water long.. OOOO did I pay for that mistake...talk about red...I was blistered ffrom head to toe...nothing seemed to help at all...it was pain and suffering for a week...its a good thing I work at home... |

Not having a towel I was not sure exactly what to do.Suddenly they almost simulataneously laughed and said..OO good we were looking for the nudist area...they went back to their truck and brought their tent and other items back and set them up...we had a terrific weekend..and I made some great new nude friends.. |

Having been to Cap D'Agde in southern France several times (the only city in the world where you are "required" to be nude 24/7 and a place with a population of anywhere from 30 to 40 thousand nudist during the summer, families , singles, gays everyone ... I found that folks just never paid any attention to men with erections...erections happened on the beach or in a shop or where ever but little if any attention was paid ... erections only seems to be a problem in the states and that seems, I think, because we make it such a big issue...maybe here in the states we should issue salt peter to all nude males before they go onto the beach or enter a resort...then it wouldn't be an issue...and here is an issue that everyone can jump up and down on me about..I am so glad to see at resorts and nude beaches how well women are able to control erect nipples...yep..they do such a good job of that.. |
